Description
The Linhay is one of nine cottages at Newhouse Farm Cottages and has been converted to a very high standard. The Linhay is a spacious detached barn with full accessibility for wheelchair users. The Linhay will comfortably sleep 6 people in one king and two twin bedrooms (all with en-suite shower rooms). It has exposed roof trusses in all rooms, oak flooring throughout and large windows to capture the light from its south-facing position. The Linhay is set across the lane from our other cottages in its own 5 acre field, offering guests unrivalled peace and quiet. The Linhay has a fully equipped kitchen; large lounge with wood burning stove; dining area; central heating; Sky TV (sports and movies), free WiFi and telephone.
Newhouse has superb indoor and outdoor facilities including heated indoor swimming pool with counter-current jets; traditional sauna; complimentary WiFi throughout; indoor games room with pool, table tennis and table football tables; indoor toddlers' soft play room; children's play areas with swings, slides and trampoline; 9-hole crazy golf course; fields for ball games; small fishing lake; and over 30 acres of land to explore.
The village of Witheridge, situated half a mile away, has a pub, post office and general store, newsagent and churches. Whatever the season Newhouse Farm offers a peaceful location with abundant wildlife including resident badgers, barn owls and red deer. The perfect place to relax!

“Excellent in every way!”
We (my husband, daughter and Mother-in-law along with our dog) stayed in The Linhay for a week at the start of July. It was when Summer arrived and the start of the hot spell. Had fantastic time there esp as the sun shone which makes everything better. But even if it hadnt the facilities on the complex would have ensured the stay was still great: heated indoor swimming pool (has fantastic jet stream) open from 9am-9pm great for a cool down after a busy day out, badminton, pool table, table tennis, darts, table football, library, piano, jigsaw puzzles etc. Outside was a children's play area, football pitch area and a massive trampoline. Everything you could ask for was readily available in The Linhay. The only thing missing perhaps (if nit picking) was some hooks to hang wet weather gear up to dry. We obviously didn't need these but felt if the weather had been inclement this might have been a minor issue we'd have to over come. Happily we used the rotary washing line to dry the swimwear on in the sunshine! The layout of the barn is conducive to two separate families staying there which was great for us with MIL. The Linhay is very remote (virtually no mobile phone reception unless wind was going your way!), its about 15 mins from Tiverton and Morrisons supermarket or South Molton and Sainsburys supermarket. Whilst we did have wifi we did need to turn the router off and on each day as the signal kept dropping off. There are some nice walks / cycle rides from the complex but rather hilly so if you're not fit before the holiday you will be afterwards! We found plenty of fantastic pubs to eat at although these tended to be at least a 15 minute drive away. Would highly recommend, in fact have already suggested to my sister she goes there with her family!

“Excellent Quality Accommodation”
We stayed for 4 nights over New Year 2013 with a large group of friends & relatives who occupied many of the other cottages. We stayed in Linhay. This is a fairly new conversion done, I believe, in 2008 but it doesn't show any signs of wear & tear you normally see in these types of property. The kitchen was excellent and well furnished with top quality utensils and crockery. The cottage was spotless throughout and we didn't have anything to cause complaint or concern. Whilst the Linhay is on the other side of the road to the main facilities we never saw a car when crossing the road. The games room and pool kept the kids fully occupied and we made use of the communal function room to meet up in the evenings and for a New Years Day meal for all 29 of us, that was a bit of a squeeze but not uncomfortably so.. There was plenty of room to walk about in the fresh air, but the weather didn't really allow us to do much of that. Some friend's had dogs with them and there was plenty of space for them to take walks. The owners were most accommodating and didn't interfere with our festivities at all even if we did get a bit noisy. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone. It is excellent.
