On the ground floor, an imposing stone fireplace, exposed beams, fitted oak kitchen, large period XVIIIth century corner cupboard and tile floors offer a warm atmosphere full of character. The high quality king size bed, Italian walk in shower and large bath give it the touch of luxury making it a real 'home from home'. Living/double bedroom, en suite bath and shower, separate WC, separate kitchen with small dining area, opening via a large French farm window/door onto the garden and park. This flat for 2 persons can be rented separately.

On the 1st floor, there is a living room/twin bedded room, with a big stone fireplace and dining area, separate kitchen, and en suite shower/WC and infra-red sauna. On the 2nd floor, there is a large, bright bedroom, with a queen size (160m) bed and a large day bed as well as a separate WC and en suite jacuzzi bath. “Very Strange Stay”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2017

I think that these "cottages" located next to the Chateau are "stepchildren" to the main accommodation. We arrived on a Sunday night and were greeted by Guy and met his wife, Marni… More

Response from the owner We are sorry that you were disappointed by your stay in the Cottage and we apologize for the electric problem with the lamp that we changed immediately, and for the chair which was also changed for a new one. Even if we try to do our best, things are not perfect and we would have resolved these problems immediately with efficiency had you spoken to us, but did so the day of your departure when we found them in the cottage with your curt note. We are sorry that you did not see the 20 glasses that were in shelf just above the stoves and in the attractive walnut corner cupboard in the bedroom/living room. Also the table with the 3 chairs by the Cottage, the 2 tables with chairs on the terrace and the 4 bench in the garden could have corresponded to your needs. The furniture in the Cottage can be seen on our illustrated website and correspond to the reality. The Cottage is clearly a self catering rental beside the chateau and different to the much more expensive guest room of the Chateau. Because the renters are independent they organise their food and other needs (such as dishwasher soap etc.) on their own. The other couple renting the cottage above yours during the same time had no difficulties in finding us and relating with us, the doors to the chateau are always open, and it is easy to ring the door bells either in the front or back of the chateau or knock on our office window. All other renters do this naturally and with ease, and we explained to you how to reach us when we greeted you on your arrival with a bottle of welcome cider and showed you the cottage. We would have been pleased to show you around the chateau, as we did the guests staying in the upper cottage, had you communicated with us, as they did. I guess communication works both ways, it takes two parties to engage. The only communication we had was indeed when I brought you a paper you had dropped, and unfortunately, offended you by knocking on your door while you were in the bath, as you let us know by "barking" through the door to go away, you were in the bath. We were sorry you left so quickly on your departure but when we saw garbage everywhere in the kitchen, grimy kitchen counter and sink not to mention bath and shower, filthy sheets, scratched table and so on we understood why. After 8 years of renting the Cottage we never had seen this and we were so shocked that we wrote a notice to the website via which you booked.

“Fantastically charming”

Wonderful little cottage on the most beatiful property. The garden in the front of the house, the sheep, the chateau, the privacy and the tranquility, and the Count and the Countess and their two dogs… More

“Absolutely stunning!!”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2012

The Chateau and its grounds are beautiful and are a pleasure to leisurely stroll through. The cottage was lovely, quaint with lots of character and tastefully decorated throughout. Perfectly situated to explore the region, not far from several main cities as well as quieter locations. Guy and Marnie were lovely, approachable and helpful with a great deal of knowledge of the surrounding area. Will definately be recommending to friends and returning in the future. A real pleasure !!!
