Description

Arthol Beach is a large 400m2 villa positioned in a perfect beach side location at the centre of Unakaruwa Bay.

It's a beautiful unspoilt palm beach used by visitors and local fishermen.

The house is protected from the rough seas of the Indian ocean by a coral reef across the neck of the bay, so it is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and surfing; there is a surf break used by local and visiting surfers.

The house is very large with a bar, verandas, outside kitchen and waterside shower. It has 5 ensuite rooms and a separate studio apartment with kitchenette and adjoining shower room.

Arthol Beach offers simple, open plan living; clean and practical, with smooth cement floors, large windows and French doors throughout the house.

There are staff available at reasonable cost for all services, including a driver, cook, cleaner and guide, depending on your requirements.

There is usually a 24 hour caretaker on site.

There are plenty of small restaurants situated around the bay at a few minute walk.

There are 2 long surfboards to rent and snorkelling equipment available for guests.

(A deposit is required for the surfboards against loss or damage.)

There is also a scooter available to rent for £8/day.

The indoor kitchen has a sink and fridge and it is available for prep and rice cooker.

There is a gas hob and bbq in the outside kitchen for frying and flame cooking...

Kitchen facilities may not be available depending on the season as a cafe bar is often operating at peak times.

Verry nice rooms in the perfect location. The two owners are super nice and food fun to hang out. The fish they serve was the best i have ever had.

Response from the owner Hi, thanks for the review. Unfortunately water, electricity and wifi cuts or shortages are very common in rural sri Lanka. Its definitely not the London Ritz hotel. ! Some people love it, others not so much.

Response from the owner I am sorry if you feel unhappy about a personal dispute, but you have not actually been a guest at arthol beach, so really this is not the place to complain. I would always recommend caution and respect when interacting in a country where you are not conversant with the culture and language. In Sri Lanka it is normal and acceptable to have loud music ,parties and events that go on for several days non stop. For example, beach funerals go on fo 72 hours night and day with music played full volume through a pa. unfortunately its Impossible to sleep!
