Description

Elm Barn at Newhouse Farm Cottages is a spacious, detached barn with plenty of space for 11 guests in 5 bedrooms. It is set apart from the other cottages and is adjacent to the swimming pool. The front door leads into a galleried entrance hall with a picture window, on through to a beamed kitchen and large dining room with French doors leading onto a small covered terrace. A short staircase leads down to the lounge – a large, comfortable room with flat screen TV with Sky movies and sports channels, a sloping ceiling with exposed wooden roof trusses, a wood-burning stove and French doors leading out onto a private courtyard garden with barbecue and seating.

On the ground floor there is one twin bedroom, one family room with a double and single bed (reached via a short staircase), a double bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Two of the bedrooms also have washbasins.

On the first floor there are two wings - one houses a suite of king bedroom, en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a nursery with a cot. The other has a king bedroom and en-suite bathroom (with shower over the bath).

Newhouse has superb indoor and outdoor facilities including heated indoor swimming pool with counter-current jets; traditional sauna; complimentary WiFi throughout; indoor games room with pool, table tennis and table football tables; indoor toddlers' soft play room; children's play areas with swings, slides and trampoline; fields for ball games; small fishing lake; and over 30 acres of land to explore. The Hayloft function room can be reserved for groups of families and friends to eat, meet and party in. For group accommodation please see our website for details of our other cottages.

We live on site and so are on hand to offer advice about where to go and what to see whilst staying with us. The village of Witheridge, situated half a mile away, has a pub, post office and general store, newsagent and churches.

We are pet friendly and allow a maximum of 2 dogs per cottage for an additional charge of £35 per week per dog.

Set in 30 acres of land, Newhouse Farm Cottages offers beautiful views of rolling countryside and is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor's gentle heather clad hills and Dartmoor's rugged splendour. Our location within the county means that it is easy motoring to the North and South coastal regions and to Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Should you feel a little adventurous then golf, horse riding, tennis, fishing and all-terrain quad bikes and go carts are all within easy reach.

Newhouse Farm Cottages is situated between the two market towns of Tiverton and South Molton in mid-Devon. Tiverton, on the River Exe, has plenty of shops and supermarkets, a pannier market, an award-winning museum and the Grand Western Canal Country Park where horse-drawn barge trips and peaceful tow-path walks can be enjoyed. South Molton is rich in traditional architecture, the Guildhall building housing a glass-roofed pannier market.

Whatever the season Newhouse Farm offers a peaceful location with abundant wildlife including resident badgers, barn owls and red deer. The perfect place to relax!
