Villa Il Frantoio and Lilmar is in the South of Italy, in the charming village of Praiano, Vettica Maggiore section, the most panoramic area!
We rent the entire complex for large party, up to 19. The listed rate is for 16 guests, breakfast included. Renting for additional persons will increase the rate!
Villa Il Frantoio is not a self-catering home, but has staff offering constant support and service. From the morning serving a delicious buffet breakfast with local products, fruits, salami, cheeses, eggs, yogurts, jam, coffee, milk, croissants and homemade cakes, following up with resetting the rooms, towels changed daily, bed linen every three days or in case of necessity, and carrying on with taking care of the pool area (the swimming pool is heated during cooler period and equipped with parasols, sun loungers, pool towels, and a new installed hot tub), offering drinks and support during the day with expertise staff giving information on restaurants, local attractions, interesting sites to visits during the stays, organizing boat tours and the many activities the Amalfi coast offers.
The villa was once a working olive press for the local villagers and has been carefully restored to bring back the essence of a period long gone. The bed and breakfast feature six rooms and a separate beautiful apartment with kitchen and living and dining area. Each room has special and unique character with private terraces (the offered quote is for one regular room, whilst for special rooms or suites, please inquiry the specific rate) overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean, picturesque Positano and legendary Capri. Homer’s famed isle of the Sirens (Sirenuse) also lies in what seems merely inches from your touch through your window. The architecture of the villa dates back to the 17th century and all of the romantic and dramatic details shine through today. The bed and breakfast's private and common-space terraces are characterized by dramatic high arches and the sleeping chambers have domed roofs in the authentic style of this region. The original stone wheel and press have been kept fully intact in our grand suite as a tasteful centerpiece. Although every effort to restore it original charm and elegance have been employed, there are all the modern conveniences one would expect in a world class bed and breakfast establishment. High-speed Internet and wireless access are juxtaposed with hand-cut stone floors—modern bathrooms look though ancient portals out to sea and Capri. Flat screen TV’s are mounted on hand colored plastered walls and air-conditioning is cleverly hidden from view but available for your comfort. The bed and breakfast is best reached either by taxi or by private car. The walk from the parking area to the villa consists of approximately 70 steps. This leads to a communal path of about 200 meters The intrepid travelers can instead access Il Frantoio the old fashioned way of the Amalfi coast; by stairs—220 to be precise—from the heart of the village below. Porter services are available and included in the rental rate.
Ours is considered the most spectacular vantage point on the entire Amalfi Coast. It is a short distance from the bustling town of Positano, with its many shops, restaurants and galleries, yet it seems a world apart. The famous city of Amalfi is down the coast in the other direction and can be easily reached by car, boat or public transportation. Excursions to the famed isle of Capri (home of the notorious Roman ruler Tiberius) can be arranged by ferry or private boat where one can swim in the waters of the Blue Grotto. While at the bed and breakfast you will enjoy full breakfast on our morning terrace and get tips to better enjoy your stay .
Adventurous travelers enjoy the spectacular trails that crisscross our steep slopes and follow the foot paths created centuries ago — before roads, or even mules, were available for transport — Truly a step back in time. Visitors tax is additional and not included. Visitors tax is Euro 2, per person, per night and is paid at check out.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom and individual/private terrace. Each of our rooms feature frigo-bar, air conditioning.
