With holiday homes there is usually a compromise somewhere along the line. With this house, finding one is a challenge. Easily accessed yet out in the country, modern yet full of Mallorcan character, super outdoor space but equally appealing indoor space, close to the town yet as close to the beach, Ull de la Font has everything.

Let’s start with the name. Ull de la Font means the eye of the fountain. It is where this particular natural font starts, the ominous hole in the ground is all the proof you need, also La Font is the name of this neighbourhood of Pollensa. Yes, this is a property oozing with rustic charm but the recent renovations have added a flourish of local modern design. The sleek and stylish finish is thanks to local designers, Mestre Paco, as well as Viçens another local artisan that produces fabrics just down the road.

With renovations completed at the end of last year, this house feels completely new and the tasteful combination of stone and wood keep the traditional countryside Mallorcan character.Inside there are four luxurious bedrooms and three bathrooms distributed over two floors. Upon entering the natural stone hallway, there is the first TV room where a stairwell will take you to a bedroom that can change from twin to double with ease. This makes up the front of the main house and could make a perfect private place for grandparents or other couple you are holidaying with.

Back to the ground floor, straight through the hallway, you will find another twin bedroom to the right and shower room. To the left, is the main lounge and dining area that opens to the huge modern kitchen. From this lounge you’ll find the stairs that lead to the bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom, with king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom, shares the first floor with a twin room (that could easily become a double) that has access to a small terrace. There is also another bathroom with shower.

Outside, the barbecue-kitchen is where the real holiday feast takes place. The days stretch from relaxing by the pool to early-evening gin and tonics on the terrace to alfresco dining in the warm evenings, all with minimal effort, maximum comfort, and the utmost style.

“Beautiful villa”

We had a really relaxing week as an extended family the villa is beautiful very quiet surroundings on narrow road with loads of space for everyone. No air conditioning except the bedrooms but we spent most of our time outside and in the pool. Owners really friendly and helpful saw her every morning watering plants. Lots of stray cats came by to say hello every day and night but as we like them wasnt a problem. Only disappointment was we were led to believe villa was only 10 minutes from pollença but it’s over half hour walk to the town and with an 80 year old it took us nearer an hour. Definitely need a car but well placed for all beaches Formentor Arta etc. Loved it thank you
