Leadengate Close is one of the most sought after locations in Croyde. It is extremely pretty with different coloured Chalet style holiday homes. It has a wonderful friendly feeling.

Kingfisher is half way down Leadengate close which is a semi private road which leads directly onto the main footpath to the beach.

In the other direction the footpath leads to the back of Billy Buds one of the most popular family Pubs in the middle of Croyde Village with its family play area.

This really is a park your car and leave it there location.

The house is situated in a large sunny grassed garden with plenty of room for eating and playing outside We think the houses on this side get the most daily sunshine. The house is of insulated wooden construction which is what gives it its charm.

Inside is freshly decorated with modern furnishings.

There is a bright lounge with French doors on to the lovely garden, a white fitted kitchen. There are two double bedrooms and one bunk bed room.

You could describe Kingfisher as small but perfectly formed, so it wouldnt suit a family of 6 who just want to stay in the house. The beauty of Kingfisher lies in its location.

The house is of insulated wooden construction which is what gives it its charm.

We have been coming here for all our happy family holidays for 10 years and extended family will often rent a nearby house too.

Croyde village offers ice cream shops, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and a delicatessen.. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.

CYCLE TO - A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great. Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

“A good all rounder!”

Reviewed 15 May 2023

This chalet is within east walking distance of the beach and the quaint village of Croyde, this in itself will make it a good choice for many. Plus a small but safe and enclosed garden for dogs/ kids is very appealing. The interior is a bit tired, the shower and bedrooms need updating, but beds very comfy. There is a washing machine and dishwasher and large comfy l-shaped couch. There was a faint musty smell but place was spotlessly clean throughout. For those of us with dogs and/or kids the chalet is a good option. Slight niggle, although Sky satellite supplied the letting website info states Wi-Fi available which in my experience usually means you’re given a code upon arrival and login for free. In fact you have to pay for the service which costs £7.99 for one day! This might not be an issue for everyone but would be for anyone planning from wfh whilst away.

“Cosy cottage”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2022

This was our second visit to Kingfisher and delivered it’s usual cosy charm. There is everything you need for a comfortable break away and the cottage was clean and tidy on arrival with a lovely cream tea as a welcoming touch. The beds are so comfortable - better than ours at home! The location of Kingfisher is perfect - close to the sea and the village with a great wraparound garden that our dog loved. We will definitely be back and recommend as a great place to stay to enjoy all that Croyde has to offer.

“My September holiday at 11 Leadengate Close, Croyde, Braunton”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2021

The chalet was very comfortable and well presented. Location is ideal being close to the beach for surfing and village centre for dining out. Very happy with the holiday but marred a little by the building work going on opposite the property which was also present the previous week we stayed in June.

Close to dunes, a little dated but fine, rooms exactly as described on website. Nice grassed area for sitting out.

“Not for us”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2021

The building was not in the condition we were expecting and had a smell which we found unpleasant. The inside showed some signs of damp but was cleaned well and the linens looked fresh. The location is also good but we declined our stay.
