RELAX & UNWIND in our self-contained, well-appointed cottage in the serene and beautiful Bega Valley.

Stroudover Cottage is a contemporary, two-bedroom, purpose-built guest house in a quiet setting, providing self-catering holiday accommodation to discerning guests who expect the comforts of home, while enjoying a relaxing holiday in the beautiful countryside of the Bega Valley. The cottage is located on a fully fenced six acre property and offers spectacular pastoral views to the surrounding mountains.

Stroudover Cottage is located near Bemboka at the foot of Brown Mountain, two hours drive from Canberra and about 40-50 minutes drive to the dog-friendly beaches of the Sapphire Coast making it an ideal base to explore the local attractions...and then escape from the hubbub to the tranquility of the property.

Stroudover Cottage is a dog-friendly property and you are welcome to bring along your well-trained companion dog(s), but we ask that you bring your dog's own bedding and that flea/tick treatments and vaccinations are current. Dogs are allowed inside the cottage, if they are allowed in your own home. However, regardless of their home 'rights', they are not allowed on the furniture, or in the bedrooms of the cottage.

The gardens of Stroudover Cottage and the whole 6 acre property of Stroudover are fully fenced, providing you with peace of mind if your dog is an escape artist.

Please note that dogs must be supervised at all times.

This means, so that there are no misunderstandings, dogs are not left alone in the cottage whilst the owner pops out for the day, nor are they left alone, either for the day or just generally loose, in either the cottage gardens or 2 acres of paddock surrounding the cottage.

While staying at the cottage, you can also indulge in a multi-course gourmet meal or take part in special cooking events. These are arranged through correspondence prior to arrival. For more details contact the owner.

For your comfort, smoking is not allowed in the cottage, but you may smoke on the verandah, if you wish.

Our style at Stroudover Cottage is luxury rural country and as such our accommodation is not suited for children under 12 years of age.

The Cottage

Stroudover Cottage features raked ceilings, wood wainscoting in the lounge/dining area, tiled floors throughout, reverse-cycle airconditioning, ceiling fans in each room, and a Eureka wood-burning stove for those chilly nights. There is also a radio/CD player, a TV and DVD player, free Wifi and numerous books and games for our guests' entertainment.

Large north-facing windows, one with a glass sliding door out to the verandah, provide stunning views of the mountains. When the sun shines, a 5kW solar power generation system supplies clean, green electricity to the cottage; and solar panels on the roof provide your hot water from the 20,000 litre rainwater tank. It is most wonderful to drink, although some bottled drinking water is provided for those who prefer it.

The Master bedroom, with views to the north, contains a king-sized bed, built-in wardrobe, bedside tables, lamps, chair and rugs. The second bedroom also contains a king-sized bed, comprising of two mattresses each with their own doona, built-in wardrobe, bedside tables, lamps and rugs. Quality linen and towels are supplied and included in the tariff. Tariffs are for 2 people with extra guests charged $25; $30 or $35 extra per night (Standard, Public holiday, Christmas/Easter respectively). There is a charge of $5 per pet per night.

There is a modern, tiled bathroom containing a shower, toilet and vanity.

The fully-sized and equipped kitchen features ample storage and bench top space, an electric cooker with 4 hotplates and fan-forced oven, a single (stand-alone) induction cook top, an Anova sous vide precision cooking device, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, Pod style coffee machine, and a pantry with plenty of storage for guest supplies. There is ample crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and various other kitchen equipment for the gourmet cook.

The laundry alcove has a 7 kg front-loader washing machine and a dryer.

The lounge/dining area has a comfortable sofa, coffee table and an extendable dining table seating up to eight people....& did I mention we have the best pet-proofed fencing in Australia...

How do damage deposits work?
