Description

Comfortable twin bedroom (with Wi-Fi) in my home, with sole use of main designer bathroom (with power shower, heated towel rail and freestanding bath) and access to lounge (TV and BluRay) and kitchen during your stay. Garden to rear of property with rural views and seating. Car and secure motorcycle (garage) parking available at property. I am a qualified heritage tour guide and I am happy to provide experience recommendations.

The village of Articlave is located on the main Causeway Coastal Route (A2 Coast Road) between Coleraine and Castlerock. The village has two small supermarkets with petrol stations. There is a Post Office, ATM facility, Off-Licence, Restaurant / Bar, Chip Shop and Chinese Takeaway.

A 30 minute scenic stroll or 10 minute cycle will take you to the beautiful seaside town of Castlerock and the National Trust's beautiful Downhill Demesne and Mussenden Temple. In Castlerock there is access to the Northern Ireland railway system, with trains to Derry~Londonderry and Belfast / Dublin every hour (train in each direction every 30 minutes).

Castlerock beach is a popular spot for walking, surfing, body boarding or a swim in the sea (RNLI Lifeguard Service July and August). The village has a popular links golf course ('a hidden gem'), a small supermarket, bakery, post office, butchers, chinese restaurant and two popular coffee shops.

The market town of Coleraine (with all main services) is just 5 miles away and is best accessed by car, bicycle (off road cycle path), or public bus.The popular seaside resorts of Portrush and Portstewart are just a 15-20 minutes scenic drive away. The Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site and Bushmills Distillery is around 30 minute drive away. Likewise the famous Walled City of Derry is around 40 minutes drive along the Causeway Coastal Route.

Getting around

The easiest way to travel around is by car, motorcycle or bicycle. There is a good train service to destinations across Northern Ireland and a less frequent bus service connecting the small local villages between Coleraine and Limavady. There are excellent off-road foot and cycle paths throughout the area.

Interaction with guest

Guests are free to come and go as they please and make use of the listed facilities. I am a qualified heritage tour guide and work in the heritage industry for a company called Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust. I will be happy to recommend experiences along the Causeway Coastal Route from the Walled City of Derry~Londonderry (my home city) to Belfast. I've a keen interest in everything outdoors and love hiking, surfing (trying to!) and cycling. I'm also a keen classic motorcycle fan.
