Description

Apartment 5203 in Residence Albaré, in Marilleva1400, is close to all the amenities we need. The locker room, where our ski's are kept is just 2 stories below us (reachable by lift inside the building), and with heavy ski boots on, the 150m walk (plus 60 stairs) to the first ski lift (Albaré lift) is only 10 min in total. The fact that our apartment is on a corner, contributes to the feeling of spaciousness, when u are inside - half-wall sliding windows let in the sun in winter, and fresh mountain air in summer. We also spend our Italian summers in Marilleva 1400, and there are so much to do, for such a good price. Getting the "Guest card" (or also called the "Tourist Card"), allows us the use of summer ski lifts and "cabines", visits to museums, castles, forts, canyons, white water rafting and horse riding - all at very much discounted rates. Down stairs in Albaré Residence are shops (also for groceries), restaurants, playrooms, WiFi rooms and a laundromat.

We, as a family have been coming to Marilleva 1400 since 1998 when our son was 7 yrs old (he is now 26). We are from the warm sunny South of Africa and love the outdoor active type of holidays. We love the fact that you can ski an entire holiday (we sometimes ski for 10 days on end!!) and never have to do the same slopes over and over again. Everyday is different - teatimes and lunchtimes are always spent at a different "rifugio". We love the active life, we love the clean crisp air, we love good food and drink - and we can get it all at Marilleva. We love our apartment ...

With the river Noche raging through the Valley of the Sun (Vale di Sole), the best river rafting in the world is possible. Cyclists can also ride for hours and hours on safe, off-road routes, and even take part in some of the most popular races in the world. For hikers the mountains are your playground and you do not have to walk the same route any day. We are horse-people, so we're happy to also have a high standard horse riding facility close by in the Valley. We love the Easter season the most, since the days are long, the sun shines most of the time and the temperatures are mild. However, the snow is still great at that time of year. We have not seen one slope closed due to not enough snow, or not well-maintained, the entire season!

Getting around

Trains are save and easy to use. The train (station) in Marilleva 900 connects via a cabine (cable car) with Marilleva 1400. Just walk over one road to get from the station to the cable car. It is easy to see the cable station from the train station. If you are confident in driving (on the right hand side of the road), then you are more flexible with where you want to go and when. Remember that in winter and summer you can get to the top of the mountains with cable cars.
