Escape to the Rail Trail River House, located on the banks of the Ovens River nestled in Porepunkah by the foothills of the majestic Mount Buffalo. The perfect choice for your friends/family stay seeking escape and/or adventure!

Affordable spacious accommodation located in a quiet court setting just metres to Rail Trail Cafe, Punkah Pub, and nearby Punkah Pantry & Local Roadhouse. Pedal just 6 kilometres along the Murray To Mountains Rail Trail to Bright. Relax and unwind in this spacious and comfortable 3 bedroom ‘home away from home’. Cyclist and family friendly with excellent indoor and outdoor cooking facilities, comfortable beds and couches, & beautiful park land at the rear with easy river access.

You will have the entire place to yourselves however bedroom access is determined by guest numbers.

1-2 guests offers 1 bedroom, 3-4 guests offers 2 bedrooms, 5-6 guests offer 3 bedrooms.

Base rates provided are for 2 guests. Extra guests will attract extra charges.

Getting around

Once here, the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is at the top end of the court, so you can walk or ride to nearby Bright (6km) or local Porepunkah Wineries. There are Vline buses that depart from outside Punkah Pantry heading towards Bright or Wangaratta, as well as numerous private operators to help you with any other transport needs.

We have included everything we could think of to make your holiday experience pleasant and comfortable, and will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. However, if there is something more you need, or anything is amiss, please feel free to call, as we are literally just a stone’s throw away, and always happy to oblige!

N.B. Although the rear yard & garden area is fenced, it is not pool fencing, & especially considering the proximity of the river, it is the parents' responsibility to maintain supervision of their children at all times.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
