Description

Our Panoramic Penthouse is located in the famous colonial quarter of San Blas and has a spectacular view over the entire historic center of Cusco. The level of design and details put the apartment in a category of superior quality.

The place is perfect for couples, families (possibility for extra beds) and business & study travellers.

THE APARTMENT & GENERAL INFORMATIION

The Panoramic Penthouse is the home fortress of the puma and the warrior. These are the warriors of the time, which you can recognise from the central sculpture in the living room. A work made up of the four Inca warriors who had the task of guarding the four suyos (the four sides of the Inca Empire).

A large table with six chairs invites the guest to become the sixth warrior. The sculpture is accompanied by two smaller armchairs made of llama leather in an exclusive design and an extra large sofa, all in turn collected around the fireplace. Traditional wall hangings decorate the walls and are mirrored in the cushions. Original fragments of Inca pottery from the Imperial time – which were unearthed by the archaeological excavations on site – convey moments and pictures of imperial Cusco, just like an on site museum.

Thanks to its aesthetics, the bedroom becomes the heart of the apartment. It is a place that is full of colour where you can lay your weapons down and return to a more playful life. On the base of white pine, we can admire the graphic drawings of local artist Miguel Angel Araoz Cartagena. The bedroom has a large double bed measuring 1.70x2 metres.

The bathroom has stone decorations, as well as a small inner garden. The hand-carved hands made of nogal (walnut) wood captivate the viewer and round off the rich atmosphere.

This large apartment stands out due to its natural light and a spectacular and dominating vista over the city of Cusco. Moreover, it has a balcony which faces the atrium with a majestic view of the monumental Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which catches the sun when it goes down.

THE COLONIAL QUARTER OF SAN BLAS

At the moment, the San Blas district is known as being the tourist area of Cusco as such. Comparative to the historical centre that borders it, San Blas is on a hill, which offers gorgeous views over the ancient Inca capital.

It unfolds around a beautiful colonial church, whose renowned pulpit, made of hand-carved cedar wood, is regarded as one of Peru’s most important works of artistic carpentry, if not of the entire continent. San Blas is the craftsman and artistic quarter in which you can find exhibitions by young talent, who exist next to the big names that are locally famous.

In the surrounding area you can find a large number of hotels and hostels as well as restaurants, cafés and pubs, and in such density that San Blas has been able to develop its own nightlife.

The quarter preserves the warmth of the narrow, cobbled lanes, the houses roofed with typical stones from Cusco and their antique gates, Spanish atriums and pretty balconies.

IMPORTANT:

Our Panoramic Penthouse is located in a quiet pedestrian street that enjoyes a special tranquillity to our place.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW that our building is not reachable by car and that is necessary to walk a flight of stais before getting to the place. We ask to the people that can see this point as a problem to take it in consideration and contact us if they want more information about this aspect.
