Description

Pretty 2 bedroom villa 5 minutes walk from Archez village. The property sits in 2000 metres of landscaped gardens with fruit trees including, figs, lemons, oranges, nisperos, olives, almonds and avocados. There are numerous spacious terraces around the house with outdoor furniture, barbecue etc. The private pool makes our house ideal for families or couples and we have had many solo travellers. The pool area is furnished with sun loungers with padded cushions.The close proximity of the village makes it perfect for guests who do not wish to be driving every day. Our pool is open from April until early October. We have a travel cot and high chair available. Our beds are made up with Egyptian cotton bed linen. Please bring your own beach/pool towels. There are a number of local restaurants and bars within five minutes walk from our house as well as 2 small supermarkets, pharmacy etc. 20 minutes walking takes you to The village of Canillas de Albaida and less than 10 minutes drive takes you to the larger town of Competa. Many of our guests prefer not to rent a car and in this case Maria, our local taxi driver, is available for airport transfers and local trips. 4 WEEKS for THE PRICE OF 3 NOVEMBER TO END of MARCH

Getting around

Some of our guests choose to rent a car but many prefer not to or some have airport transfers from our local taxi driver and rent a car for 4 or 5 days of their stay. If you choose not to rent a car, there are several little supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy etc within walking distance of our house and the local taxi will be happy to take you, if you wish to travel a little further. There is a bus service from the next village which will take you to Malaga if you wish, but it also stops at the lovely coastal resort of Torre del Mar. The bus service is 3 times daily.

Interaction with guest

We live in Scotland and will not be in Spain during your stay but you can expect regular communication with us prior to your holiday. During your stay, our excellent property managers, Carl and Jenny, will make visits to clean the pool and will be on hand if you need them for anything.

Children under the age of 2 years must use travel cot provided. Only the people named on our booking form can use the house and our private grounds and pool.
All guests must provide their passport details for the Guardia Civil and scan passports on arrival

Response from the owner Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review, it was a pleasure to have you as our guests and you are more than welcome to return. There is a gentler way to walk to our villa by following the road round to the right after you pass restaurante venta el curro on your right hand side. After following this road round you will then be walking down towards our house instead of up. Takes about 5 minutes longer but a bit easier to deal with. I do walk up the steep way as I find that it helps to offset the calories from the local food Thank you for your lovely comments about our house, we have tried to equip it with everything that we think people, including ourselves, will need for a holiday. Thank you also for recommending us to your friends as we have already received 2 bookings from them! Maria, our local taxi driver, will be pleased to hear that you have praised her, she really is great. the majority of our guests are now booking Maria instead of renting a car, now that we have 5 good rstaurants in the village and another 4 in the next village, there is really no need for someone to be the designated driver. And, yes, her dads restaurant is lovely we always make a point of visiting it when we are over. Great that you have made use of the fruit on the trees, the almonds are also lovely. The local supermarket is very well stocked and the owners are very friendly. I know that all of the local businesses really appreciate the custom that they receive from the visitors to our villa as tourism is really important to the small villages and they are always keen to tell us how nice our visitors have been, but we already know that anyway :). You have set the scene for my own trip over at the weekend now. I will pass on your comments about the high standard of cleanliness to Jenny and Carl,our property managers. They do a brilliant job.

How do damage deposits work?
