Description

**Please contact us at High Forest Cottages for up to date pricing**

The Barn at High Forest Cottages is our beautifully restored cottage in the New Forest. You will love staying here for a romantic getaway or for a relaxing holiday for two. Cosy up in front of the fire after enjoying long walks or cycle rides in the Forest or visiting one of the quaint Forest villages. If you do not fancy heading out for dinner, you can enjoy cooking in the spacious kitchen. You will love the beautiful mezzanine bedroom, which is accessed by a stunning spiral staircase, and the luxury bathroom.

The fabulous double height vaulted lounge with its character beams and fabulous double height windows make this a lovely space in which to relax. Heated by underfloor heating with the addition of a log burner, it is always cosy whatever the weather. A basket of wood and kindling is provided for you and you can top this up from the log store throughout your stay. The large Smart TV is connected to the free WiFi so you can log in to your own Netflix and Amazon accounts. A Blu-Ray player is also available if you fancy watching an old school movie.

The kitchen is well-equipped and you can easily cook a Sunday roast if you fancy. There are plenty of pans and dishes, a fan oven with grill and electric hob. The fridge has a small icebox and the dishwasher will take care of the washing up. Dishwasher tablets, as well as washing up liquid and tea towels, are available for your use. Milk, tea, sugar and ground coffee together with a cafetiere are provided so you can settle in as soon as you arrive.

The mezzanine bedroom, which is accessed by a beautiful spiral staircase, features a comfortable double bed (140*90cm), with luxury cotton sheets, a 10 tog microfibre duvet and four microfibre pillows. A dressing table with swivel mirror and hair dryer is situated at the end of the bed. With the bedroom in the eaves of this old Barn a low level hanging rail and hangers will provide space for you to hang your dresses, shirts and jackets.

The bathroom leads off the bedroom and is enclosed by a sliding door. It features a shower over the bath, towel rail, sink with mirror over and toilet. Lovely fluffy white towels and face cloths are provided for your stay. The underfloor heating ensures that little extra luxury during your stay.

A lovely patio garden, enclosed by a beech hedge is the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a lazy afternoon on the sun loungers. In the evenings you can light the BBQ for some alfresco dining and the outside lighting extends your evenings after sunset. Parking for two cars is available next to The Barn. The shared laundry with washing machine and dryer is available should you need it.

“A Sanctuary Away From Daily Rigours”

Reviewed 31 May 2023

We were looking for an escape, somewhere to hole up, away from everyone and all those daily chores and pressures… We found exactly that at The Barn! Step across the road (and the cattle grid) and you’re in the midst of the roaming wildlife that adorns The New Forest, literally across the road! Cattle, Ponies, Deer and Donkeys all around you. We walked 32 miles over the course of the weekend and loved every inch of it. The property was spotless, has every amenity you could wish for, lovely coffee, lemon drizzle cake and local diary fresh milk too, lovely touches! We slept well in the comfy bed and enjoyed the courtyard for breakfast in the sun… we were lucky with the weather! We would recommend The Barn to anyone looking for what this property presents itself as, a little piece of luxury in the wonderful New Forest, you won’t be disappointed!!

“A wonderful stay”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2020

Just got back from a lovely week in the New Forest, staying at High Forest Cottages. On arrival, we were greeted with a stunning, immaculate and modern little cottage. Astrid and Mark had worked so hard to present a beautiful setting, even leaving us a homemade lemon cake (my favourite as it happens!!) Everything was there that we could have needed or wanted to make our stay very relaxing. Lots of information about local attractions and an efficient guide to all the services and instructions needed in the beautifully equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable break.

“Cosy forest retreat”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2017

We arrived after dark on a Friday evening finding the barn easily with the directions given. Had a lovely welcome from Mark and Astrid who showed us to the barn. Gorgeously furnished with wonderfully cosy underfloor heating. There is everything you need including a comfortable bed, we slept well only to be woken early by our early rising dog who decided a walk over the road in the forest was required. Beautiful part of the New forest, Very enjoyable stay, we would definitely like to come back one day.
