Description
Cliff cottage is an original fisherman's cottage built at the same time as the lime kilns on the beach. Recently modernised, it remains full of character with beamed ceilings, ingle-nook fireplace and a woodburning stove. It's position on the coast road between East and West Portholland ensures spectacular sea views from every room and a gem of a garden perched on the headland looks out over the beaches and Veryan Bay. The garden is also an ideal spot for watching gannets diving in the bay, fulmars nesting in the cliff and for stargazing after dark.
It is a lovely hideaway, which sleeps 4 and is ideal for a relaxed family beach holiday, bird watching or walking. The South West Coast path passes outside the property.
West Portholland beach is literally a stone's throw away and East Porthollad beach a 2 minute walk. At low tide the 2 sandy beaches become one and it is possible to walk between them over the sand.
This cosy property is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The peaceful area ensures a restful holiday although many activities and places to visit are within easy reach. The Eden Project and The lost Gardens of Heligan are less than 10 miles away and there are many National Trust gardens within an easy drive.
