Description
Oak Lodge is a green oak framed English Heritage barn constructed in the traditional way with beech dowels and a host of beautifully exposed beams. Furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard, the Lodges accommodation is "upside down" to ensure that our guests benefit from the beautiful views that surround the building. The spacious upstairs lounge has comfortable leather armchairs and a sofa to seat up to six guests very comfortably, and there is a small office area adjacent to it, so, if there is a need to work from home it can be done in comfort. High speed wireless wi-fi has been made available ensuring full connectivity to the internet. We have recently had an Electric Vehicle Charging Point installed too for our guests who have embraced sustainability.
The Lodge will be made ready for your arrival complete with linen, towels and all of the basics to get you started. Downstairs the accommodation comprises two large bedrooms furnished with solid wood furniture to compliment the beams, one features a super king zip and link bed which can be divided into two singles, and the other is a double bed with space for a "hotel style" fold away bed if required. New for 2022 is the addition of a fabulous en-suite to the double bedroom.The solid oak fitted dining kitchen includes a built in fan oven, electric hob with extractor, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge freezer. The oak dining table can be extended to seat up to six if required. Kaye has ensured that it comes complete with everything you should need. The luxury shower room, (refitted in 2022) and laundry room with washing machine, iron, ironing board etc are also located on the ground floor. A complete home from home with dedicated parking, beautiful views over open fields, with its own garden and seating/BBQ area, woodlands and the Lodge Farm vegetable and fruit garden. Being an "Eco" Lodge, it has been built with energy conservation in mind. The Lodge benefits from low energy lighting, rainwater harvesting to the pond, and innovative "green" building materials utilised to reduce it's carbon footprint.The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with Hollyhock cottage, The Retreat and Orchard cottage which together can sleep up to 20 guests in comfort. “Paradise Found”

“Perfect family retreat”
We visited the Oak Barn with our toddler, the barn is very well equipped. It even has a very spacious washing room, a high chair, fully equipped kitchen and a bbq which we also enjoyed. The beds were extremely comfortable, the fresh clean scent of the bedding was lovely. Everything was clean to very high standards. We were treated with coffee, milk, sugar, tea and fresh eggs from the cottage. It was very easy to find the location even with heavy rain. Supermarkets are very close too. The cottages are beautiful, the ducks and chickens were the biggest entertainment for our little boy, followed by the apple trees and the big park. Kaye and Richard are amazing hosts, they are so kind, so well prepared to welcome us and answer any questions. Richard prepared a honey tasting for us and it was delicious. This is definitely a place to come back. Stamford is a lovely place and it’s just 10’ away. Thank you K&R
