Response from the owner Sra. Ana lamentamos muchisimo la mala experiencia que ha tenido rentando nuestra villa privada. Pero le comunico que la decisión de haberle cobrado el dinero no fué tomada por nosotros los propietarios, fué una decisión tomada por Tripadvisor al ud fallar en no cancelar su estadía de inmediato y comunicarles que no iban a quedarse, por que no fué de su agrado, ud se comunicó con ellos después de sus vacaciones. Quedando asi en el calendario que no estaban disponibles esos dias y nosotros no poder rentarla a mas nadie en una temporada muy alta en dias festivos en mi pais. Ud solo le comunicó a nuestro encargado que no iban a quedarse y nosotros nos comunicamos de inmediato con Tripadvisor y estos a su vez le dejaron dos e-mails a ud para que se comunicara con ellos, y les explicara la situación y uds no llamaron hasta su regreso de sus vaciones. Nuestra intención de poner en renta nuestra propiedad es dar alojamiento a turistas que visitan nuestras playas a un precio extremamente razonable y dejando en claro con fotos y mapa la ubicación de nuestra villa, que no es un cuarto de hotel, sino una villa completa para su uso y por su mala experiencia con la decisión tomada por Tripadvisor no creo que es justo el comentario de llamar nuestra villa una "villa de emergencia". Sra Ana esperemos que esto nos quede de experiencia a las dos partes en los pasos que tenemos que seguir cuando rentamos una propiedad por medio de un contrato.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Bart/Evita (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
