"As Time Goes By" is a totally NO smoking (anywhere on the property) and NO Pets rental with a 4 person Maximum Occupancy (including all adults and children/infants) We live next door so we are there if you need us during your stay but respect your privacy.
'As Time Goes By' is a charming historic (c. 1885) 2 story home in the heart of Savannah's downtown Landmark Historic District. Walking distance to River Street, City Market, Forsyth Park, and all of the downtown historic sites, dining, shopping, and museums. There is free parking available on the street, so you can leave your car parked. Take the free DOT bus that stops a few blocks away, or enjoy a leisurely walk through Savannah's streets lined with moss-draped trees, historic mansions and picturesque Squares.
As Time Goes By is tastefully furnished with period antiques, vintage finds, original heart pine floors, and lots of natural light throughout. Your cozy Living Room with its original brick fireplace, a 40" flat screen ROKU TV plus basic cable, DVD player, and highest speed available WiFi, opens to a spacious Dining Room with seating for 4 plus a desk. Adjoining the Dining Room is a fully stocked kitchen that includes full size refrigerator with automatic ice-maker, ceramic cooktop and stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and coffee maker. We provide a supply of coffee, tea, spices, and sweeteners to get you started. The kitchen also includes a bistro table for 2 so you can grab morning coffee or a quick snack.
Whether enjoying a leisurely breakfast, or unwinding at day's end, you'll appreciate being able to spend quiet moments on your private deck. This beautifully landscaped courtyard area, just off the Dining Room, is fenced for your complete privacy and furnished for your alfresco dining experience.
On the second floor, 3 themed bedrooms, all with new upgraded mattresses, accommodate up to 4 guests. Choose from the 'Fit For a Queen' bedroom with a Queen size vintage four poster bed, and original brick fireplace (non-working.) Full beds are furnished in both the 'Tybee Time' and 'Southwest Siesta' bedrooms.
The full bathroom includes a brand new tub/shower combination with plenty of fluffy towels, hair dryer, an extra capacity washer/dryer, ironing board and iron for your use. All rooms have new ceiling fans for your comfort.
We, the owners of As Time Goes By, spent 8 years visiting, touring and falling in love with Savannah before choosing to make this beautiful city our home in 2013. Since we live next door, we are happy to share all that we have learned about Savannah but respect our guests privacy as long as they follow the house rules.
You must remember this: Life is too short not to come spend a weekend, or even a week, at As Time Goes By. The fundamental things apply, so come see all that Savannah has to offer before any more time goes by!
