Description

Set in the midst of the beautiful Tramuntana Mountains, this lovely villa with private pool is near Sóller and welcomes 2 guests.

In the 5m x 4m private chlorine pool with a depth ranging from 1.1m to 1.5m you can swim while contemplating the mountains. After a refreshing bath in the pool, you may lay down on two sun loungers and read a good book. An exterior kitchen with BBQ is ideal for those who like cooking outside. A terrace is great for al-fresco dining and has views to Fornalutx and Biniaraix. The plot is fenced and there are a few neighbours.

The interiors are composed of a cosy sitting-dining room with open kitchen, A/C and satellite-TV. The kitchen is fully-equipped, including an electric hob. Furthermore, there's a laundry with washer, iron and ironing board. The bedroom counts with two twin beds, a fan, a wardrobe and an electric heater for the colder months. We gladly supply a cot and a high chair for our youngest guests.

A few minutes' walk takes you to the picturesque centre of Sóller, declared as a World Human Heritage by Unesco. The most emblematic building is the church of St Bartholomew and its first historical record is dated back to the year 1236. Sóller has good restaurants, supermarkets, cafés and everything else you may need for an independent stay. By tramway or bus you can go to Puerto de Sóller, a coastal town with a sand beach, bars and shops. In the surroundings you'll find lots of cycling routes and trails. The most famous and maybe the most beautiful excursion is a journey by the old train from Sóller to the capital Palma, past romantic landscapes and genuine villages. The beaches of the mountains are mostly rocky and surprise with cool and clear waters. Just to mention a few: Llucalcari, Cala Deià and Port des Canonge. Through wild-romantic winding roads and small paths you can explore the mountains by car, foot or bicycle. A car is essential.

“Can Fabiol is a wonderful little finca”

We have just returned from a week at Can Fabiol. It was an extremely hot week, even the locals were too hot so the pool was an absolute luxury. We were in and out of it every day, several times a day. We took the tram to Port de Soller one day which we have done previously but it was much hotter there. Cooler up the hill and with a breeze and because we had the pool we had a really relaxing and enjoyable week. The owner met us at the property at nearly midnight and returned 2-3 times during the week to clean the pool and patio area. We found delicious home grown fruit in the fridge on arrival and his lovely wife popped by on the Sunday with freshly picked figs. They were a delightful couple. Plenty of towels provided for indoor and outdoor use so space left in cases for lovely presents for home which we purchased in Soller from the shops and the fantastic Soller market on the Saturday. Waiters at the restaurants were great fun and helped us with our Spanish. Homerti were excellent from booking our trip to coming home. We had a problem with the water turning off but a call to them and we knew what to do to get it back on and they reported it to the owner. Some booking sites stated ‘must have a car’ but we were very content with the 10 minute walk down the hill to Soller town. The tram runs every 30 minutes all day from the town and the lovely train runs regularly to Palma. Taxi’s also readily available. Taxi drivers to and from the airport were very friendly and helpful. We realised during the week that there was a luggage storage facility in Palma so we asked the taxi company if they could take us to Palma instead of the airport so we could spend a few hours in Palma before catching the A1 bus to the airport. They were happy to do that for us and we had 3 or 4 hours in Palma. The only reason we have rated Can Fabiol a 4 and not a 5 was because the facilities inside were a bit rustic. We advised Homerti there was only one wine glass. We didn’t want the owners to think we had broken a glass if they weren’t aware one had been broken previously and a spatula would have been handy when cooking burgers on bbq/outside kitchen. There were a few coals left in the bottom of the sack which was enough for 2 small bbq’s. We weren’t sure whether coals were provided or if they had been purchased by a previous guest. Would have been jolly heavy to carry up the hill from the town. A wonderful time and we would definitely return.
