Description

This first-floor cottage offers a real experience of England and a typical English seaside holiday in a famous area of natural beauty, preserved by the National Trust, also known as the Jurassic coast of Dorset - consisting mostly of cliff and open countryside. It is best suited for walks, sightseeing excursions, literary associations, safe bathing on sandy beaches, golfing, rock climbing, fishing, scuba diving and other water sports. But Swanage and its surroundings are also rich in history from Celtic hill forts, Saxon walls, Norman castles to World War II installations. This was also the home of the famous English poet and novelist, Thomas Hardy, and the villages and towns, the hills and heathlands are rich in associations with his writings..The cottage is available on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday. A chief attraction is its location in the very heart of Swanage right on top of the beach, public transport, shops, pubs and restaurants, so you can easily do without a car, though public parking is available & included in the cost

The cottage has central heating and an electric heater. It sleeps 2 in the bedroom (double bed) and 2 on single sofa beds in the lounge. The cottage is not wheelchair accessible .The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, washing machine and dryer. We regret - no pets and no smoking. Linen, towels and house supplies are provided.

Located on the first floor, the cottage is cosy and centrally located and yet quiet. A Juliet balcony offers a view of the garden below and roofscape beyond.

“Comfy and quiet apartment in excellent location!”

Welcoming hosts led us to quiet and cosy apartment. This is near to beach and local amenities including lots of great restaurants and pubs. South West Coast path is also close by and we followed this for several miles along the coast. Excellent stay - would definitely visit again!

“Every thing we needed”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in swanage. Never been before, and was a late booking but everything at 6 Arcade Terrace was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The sofa and reading lamp was a favourite place for my morning read and enjoyed the eclectic range of pictures on the walls too. Would highly recommend, Jane was the perfect host, also provided a safety pin or two for a wardrobe malfunction!

Tucked away in the heart of Swanage, this apartment is fully equipped & comfortable. A nice touch to have tea, coffee, milk & biscuits supplied & also to have all bedding & towels provided, The accommodation contained everything that you could wish for in a holiday let & is literally a 2-3 minute walk into the town centre & see front. It's location enabled us to explore the surrounding area with plenty of walks on the doorstep.Having free car parking at a hotel just up the road was useful & convenient, We would certainly visit again.

“its just perfect!”

Stayed at this apartment many times now, locations and the apartment is within 2 mins walk from the beach, shops and lots of places to eat and buy food from. The owners supply practically everything, all you need a beach towel, very clean and presentable. Great value for the location and what is supplied, even coffee, tea etc and when you arrive there is milk and Danish or fruit on arrival.... you would be hard pressed to find anything better for the price......its our go to place! Thanks again Jane and Ian for another great holiday! See you again soon.
