Description

Bracken Cottage is a lovely cottage to rent in the New Forest. The cottage is located on the edge of the popular village of Sway and provides direct access to the New Forest, with ponies, donkeys and cattle frequently coming up to the gate. Bracken Cottage is a new rental property for April 2012 and has been recently redecorated to a high standard and sleeps up to 8 adults comfortably in 4 bedrooms. The position of the cottage could not be better for a family holiday. Bracken Cottage is located in the South of the New Forest between the Georgian yachting town of Lymington and the charming village of Brockenhurst and offers easy access to the coast and to the New Forest. Christchurch with its historical centre and attractive sandy beaches of Mudeford and Hengistbury Head are a short drive away and Poole (including Sandbanks) and Bournemouth with their premier sandy beaches are less than an hour away.

On the ground floor there is:

- a modern kitchen with a fridge, gas hob, an electrical fan oven and a microwave;
- an open plan sitting room with an open fire leading into an adjoining dining room;
- a loo; and
- a bedroom with a double bed.

On the first floor the cottage offers: a large landing off which there is a family bathroom incorporating a bath with a shower, a basin and a loo and three further bedrooms, bedroom one and bedroom three with double beds and one further bedroom with twin beds. All of the bedrooms have attractive aspects and two overlook the open forest.

The house is surrounded by a patio area with ample space for a barbecue giving access to a good-sized garden and a drive way suitable for up to 4-5 cars. Access to the washing machine, drier, additional fridge and freezer are in the double garage.

Lovely comfortable well equipped cottage in a beautiful location with ponies and donkeys to watch.Only 10 minutes from Lymington and a short drive to wonderful sandy beaches.The best of both worlds.

“Bracken cottage, Sway”

Just returned from a lovely long weekend at Bracken cottage. It was as described, a lovely setting and the cottage was very comfortable. Having wood provided for the open fire was great. Johnathan was the ideal host - responding quickly to any questions even the day after our rental had finished.

“Airshow”

Stayed here as a base for Bournemouth Airshow was lovely quiet place with everything we needed host was very welcoming and brought us round local paper which was a nice touch. Ponies and donkey visited on a few occasions which was lovely to see. The dog had a pleasant stay also making use of the spacious garden

“Comfy and spacious cottage”

Owner was really welcoming and helpful throughout the booking process , prior to our arrival and during our stay. Cottage was ideal for our extended family with large sitting room and a garden to play in and we enjoyed being able to go from walks from the front gate. Our granddaughter loved the donkeys resting next to the gate!

“Wonderful time/memories”

The location, and cottage was amazing - Confess my first experience of holidaying in a holiday rental. Arrived first night with my elderly father for a birthday surprise, welcomed by the host and cottage well equipped and clean with fresh linen, towels, and tea! and generously offered was the use of anything in the home - barbecue or even to have an open fire - all provided. Family arrived on the second day, which accommodated us all well (7 in total, along with the two dogs). My daughters delighted with waking up and being greeted by the ponies, right outside the cottage. Can't thank the host enough for making us all feel welcome and for making our weekend a wonderful experience and providing us with some wonderful memories. Thank you.
