“The Cottage at West 1077 = August 2013” We have stayed in Bandera almost every year since 1997 and this accomodation was by far the best we've ever experienced. A delightful, beautifully appointed cottage in the edge of the Hill Country State Natural area and just a short drive from the centre of 'The Cowboy Capital of the World'. The cottage boasts two bedrooms, a lovely bathroom, spacious lounge and even a well appointed kitchenette. The icing on the cake was the lovely porch complete with rocking chairs and table and chairs, perfect for watching the local wildlife and the sun set over the Hill Country. The owners, Mr & Mrs Kirchner, were really friendly, attentive and couldn't do enough for us. They ensured the cottage was topped up with fresh towels and made sure that our stay was as perfect as possible. All in all, we say without hesitation that we have found our Bandera 'home from home' and will visit again (and again)whenever we can. Thank you Mr & Mrs Kirchner, for letting us stay at your wonderful cottage!

“love love loved!!” This was a beautiful and comfortable stay!! The name suits it very well! Not only do you wake to the waves, but to fall asleep to them is even better!! I loved the simple walk to the beach and the convenience of the pool!! I must admit, being able to watch my husband and kids play on the beach while i watched from the bedroom balcony was by far my favorite!! Love love loved it!! Thanks cheryl!! “A home away from home” We stayed in this log cabin last week for 5 days. This is a very beautiful cedar log cabin. We love the serenity and being with mother nature. Stella, the contact person was very helpful and very nice to us. She is very professional to deal with. The beds were very comfortable and they had a chest full of board games. We enjoyed playing the guitar as well. The lake was not too far. We enjoyed boating there, of course! If you're looking for a log cabin to stay for vacation or just to unwind, I will highly recommend this dream away cabin to give a try! Thanks!

“Peaceful Hill Country experience...” My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista. The house is new, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It takes a little while to get to it - country roads and across cattle guards - but you truly get what it would be like to live in the Hill Country. We saw deer and a magnificent storm that blew in on Saturday night. The breakfast consisted of kolaches, muffins, orange juice, coffee and some fruit. We'll keep Bella Vista on a short list of places that we'd like to visit again.

“Retama Reteat” We had a wonderful time at this spacious comfortable spot. We had a few issues with lighting & the dishwasher & the owner, Cat was wonderful. A new dishwasher & light were installed in good time. I would definetly recommend this location which is a block from refreshing walks on the beach, shopping, & nearby restaurants.

“Relaxing and luxurious!” The experience was all we wanted it to be and more. We stayed at the condo with my husband, 2 teens and a 18 month old and we all fit comfortably! The place is beautifully appointed with gorgeous views, exquisite patio, and gracious hosts. We had fun just enjoying the place itself, the kids had their own quarters with TV and board games and me and my husband stayed in adjoining suite complete with living room and kitchen. Very nice setup, very relaxing, great location right next to tons of amazing restaurants, upscale shopping and amusement parks. Just all-around perfect family vacation spot!

“Great Hill Country Retreat” Our stay was amazing from the time we drove thru the front gate. The house was clean, spacious, and had everything you could possibly need. The clear water creek along the back of the property was by far the highlight for us. The beautiful pool and hardscape was a great attraction. Everything was immaculate and well maintained. Our prime location felt secluded but we were only a 1/2 mile from restaurants, grocery stores, and small shops in the walking square. Our host checked on us as we arrived and as we left ensuring everything was just as we expected. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.

“Very good!” Everything was great! The owners were really nice and would respond quickly to any questions we had. The check in process was easy and quick. Equipped with everything we needed, even had board games and beach chairs in one closet. The condo was very nice and clean, everything was working, the views were awesome! “100% recommendable!” We tremendously enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was as promised, remote (but not very difficult to get to) , isolated from the daily assault of internet and cell phone services and surrounded by 100% beautiful nature with the Chinati mountains to north and the Sierra Madre to the south, both of which could be enjoyed in a panorama view from the spacious balcony. As for the cabin, don’t expect the sterility of a commercial rental. This is more like your best friend handed over the key to his cabin. We found the cabin clean and cosy and little by little discovered some gems on the bookshelves and in the CD rack. The bed was very comfortable and kept us warm even during cold winter nights. The wood stove kept the cabin warm during the day. Across the road is a simple resort called variously Chinati or Ruidosa Hot Springs. For $15 a person you can get a day pass with access to the “communal pool”, which has about as much charm as a fitness club hot tub, only it is not really hot but lukewarm. We did not bother. Hiking along the road rewards you with some spectacular views and the cabin itself has a cute winding trail of about 1 mile, which starts on the north side of the house (walk in the direction of the fence). All other roads and trails are private and unfortunately, there is no public access to the Rio Grande/Bravo anywhere close. So mostly, you get to enjoy the cabin, which was fine by us. 100% recommendable!
