Description

Hannaford's Quay is a luxury two bedroom waterside cottage situated in the centre of Topsham on Hannaford's quayside only ten feet from the waterside. The cottage faces South West with marvellous views over the estuary and is within a five minute walk of shops, cafes, bars and all amenities in the town including: restaurants, bar, shops, antiques market, outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, bowling green, railway station, and ferries. There are marvelous walks and cycle paths nearby, including the newly opened estuary cycle path to Exmouth, with its beaches and the start of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The estuary is famous for its migratory birds particularly during the winter, many of which can be spotted from the comfort of the cottage balcony.

Ground Floor Glazed porch and door into superb, very spacious kitchen/diner. This lovely bright room has a polished oak floor, a dining table to seat eight and a window seat. There is a large electric Smeg oven with 6 gas rings, microwave, large Smeg fridge/freezer, Belfast sink with in-built water filter, dishwasher and flat screen TV. Panasonic DAB Micro system for CDs with an iPod dock. At the other end of the room is a utility area with tumble dryer, washing machine and large hanging cupboard. Luxury downstairs shower room with extra large shower enclosure, basin and WC. First FloorCarpeted stairs to a large and sunny sitting room with estuary views from the two sets of French doors that open to a railed balcony. From the balcony there are breathtaking views across and down the estuary and on which one can sit and watch the sunset over the Haldon Hills. There are two huge sofas (one converts to a large double bed), a large contemporary flame effect gas burner, a telescope for bird watchers, flat screen TV with DVD. Second FloorStairs up to the bedrooms that both have pitched ceilings. Attractive and cosy double room with 5ft bed and lovely views. The second bedroom has a 3ft bed with a full size pullout beneath to form a large double or twin beds. The lovely bathroom is tucked under the eaves with a superb jacuzzi bath, electric shower over, basin, WC and even a shelf for the champagne!

The property is protected from the lane and estuary beach by a high wall with both a wrought iron gate and large electric sliding gate for car access onto the yorkstone paved area immediately in front of the cottage.There is space on the yorkstone courtyard at the front of the house for a mid-sized car. There is also public on street parking on the quayside at the front of the house and charge parking 250 metres away

Beautiful property to stay in clean and warm with wonderful views. Lovely area with lots of lovely places to eat and drink and the locals are very friendly would definitely come back.

Topsham is a really great place, full of interesting things to do, and places to go, and this house is a perfect base. One thing to note is that it has parking on site, which is important in Topsham

There was plenty to do in the area. There are great restaurants and lovely walks around Topsham. Altogether I would thoroughly recommend Hannaford's Quay for a pleasant break.
