Ambakanda is a boutique 2 bedroomed villa nestled in the hills overlooking Unawatuna Bay, Galle, Sri Lanka. Set amidst a lush tropical garden with sea views Ambakanda offers you 2 double bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms and assortment of inddor and outdoor lounging areas. Fully staffed, Ambakanda provides the perfect place to relax, unwind and when ready, explore the wonderful country around you. Unwatuna with it's beautiful beach and assortment of shops, bars and restaurants is at the bottom of the hill. The Thalpe coast which Amabakanda sits on offers an assortment of bars and restaurants for you to discover, from high end luxury to local charm. The UNESCO world heritage site of Galle Fort is 15 minutes up the coast in a tuk tuk. Or you can head inland, through the paddy fields and up to the Sinharaja rain forrest which is a couple of hours away.

Response from the owner I was disappointed to hear the guests feelings about the house and they were given a full refund. With the exception of the sun loungers, the state of which I was unaware of and which have been replaced, I have been unable to reconcile their account of the house with the reviews from guests, both previous and subsequent, who have actually stayed at the villa, which have been without exception positive. Rather than responding in depth to what I feel is both an unfair and inaccurate review, I would urge potential guests to read the other reviews both here and elsewhere as I feel they will carry more weight than anything I could say here.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Andrew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
