Description
Cortijo la solana is a typical Andalucían, turn of the century stone built farmhouse , tastefully converted by the owners David and Diana Worthy who in a 'former life' ran a very successful ceramics business - CRICH POTTERY , back in Derbyshire , UK and are now turning their hands at being part time farmers tending to a small herd of Alpacas ( and other 4 legged friends ) which they keep here . The total accommodation consists of the main Cortijo and a small Casita which can be rented individually or both together.
PLEASE NOTE that during the Summer months , occupants of the Cortijo will have exclusivity and the Casita will not be rented out unless the two are booked together.
La Casita is the smaller of the two properties and completely separate and private. The accommodation consists of 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom incorporating walk in shower, split level living area with double Futon for extra sleeping and large kitchen/dining room. It will accommodate up to 3 persons.
There is TV plus DVD and WiFi internet access. Outside there is a private patio area with outdoor seating, BBQ etc and access to the swimming pool (7x 4 m).
Here at Cortijo la solana you are invited to come and stay with us on our small farm, where we have created , in this privileged environment, what we feel to be an ideal rural retreat. With stunning views to the Mediterranean coast and the surrounding sierras, this is the perfect location for anyone wishing to experience the real Spain. Enjoy the many wonderful animals we have here - alpacas, donkeys, peafowl, hens, turkeys, cats and dogs. You may not want to venture out but if you do there are numerous opportunities in the area for all kinds of outdoor activities such as cycling (mountain bike & road) walking, rock climbing, horse riding and bird watching. The ancient town of Antequera is only 25 min drive away, plus you are ideally situated to make day trips to the historical cities of Granada (1.5 h drive), Cordoba (2 h), Seville (2.5 h). Plenty to do and see, with the city of Malaga and all the attractions of the Costa del Sol only a short drive away (40 min) should you wish for it.
