Description

Located in a scattered hamlet with great views around of Lake Vinuela and the surrounding Tejeda mountains. The Attico has one bedroom with double bed and bathroom, great size lounge with comfy sofa and English TV/Radio. Outside features include a large swimming pool, (8 x 4 mtrs) with sunbeds and shade, two private patio areas and bbq. The Attico apartment is a perfect getaway for those who want to relax and 'take in the rays', yet only a short drive to local amenities, Lake Vinuela and the local beaches of Torre del Mar and the pretty port of Caleta,Torrox Costa, and Nerja. The surrounding views show Lake Vinuela and the Tejeda Mountains. There is a Buddhist temple locally which is one of only 3 in the world. Chill out and do nothing, or explore the glory of Andalucia! In cooler months is also a great retreat for walkers with plenty of routes around to enjoy. Come and enjoy you will love it! (Self catering)

The Attico has a spacious and contemporary feel with a good sized and well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer and washing machine, two private terraces either side, most suitable for couples. Great views of the Andalucian mountains and is completely private. Be in your own world!

Pool cleaned weekly. Bed linen, towels for pool, and bath. BBQ provided. We have air conditioning which also operates as a heating system in the cooler months.

It is overall best to hire a car for your trip. However there are buses that can be got from Malaga to Torre del Mar/Velez, and then a taxi could be got to the property.

Response from the owner Yes, your expectations must be exceedingly high for sure, previous reviews will validate there have been no cause for complaint on cleanliness issues. We have never had such uncommunicative guests stay other than yourselves, you were miserable on arrival before entering the attico, and our offer to put right your issues were refused. We would not recommend you or your dog as guests and it would have been appreciated if you had cleared up the dog's hair and mess before you left. Best wishes to anyone who has you as guests in the future. Cleanliness is extremely important to us and is maintained to a very good standard, but obviously not good enough for you. Rating you as guests would give you a zero.

“GREAT BASE FOR TOURING OR CHILL OUT BY THE POOL AND TERRACE”

Stayed at this little gem last month and used it as a base for a bit of touring around the local area of Axarquia and also further afield to Granada (under two hours) and Nerja (35 mins). The accomodation is a totally self contained unitat the top of an imposing Spanish house with private access. It is very well furnished and extremely comfortable. The owners live at the property but didn,t see much of them which was just fine. The location is rural and quiet (you may encounter a goat herder on the track on a busy day) but is close to the villages of La Vinuela and Los Romanes should you want to eat out etc. Will definitely book this again later this year if available.

“Lovely place to chill”

Beautifully styled apartment in peaceful location. Great views over the surrounding countryside. The owners were charming and helpful but never intrusive. If you want a change of pace it's only a short drive to the beach and the buzz of Torre del Mar. Highly recommended.

“A lovely peaceful location.”

We had a lovely stay at the "Attico". Although it's in a nice quite location, it's only10 mins or so from a village with a shop, bar and restaurant. A perfect location for exploring the pretty mountain villages of this part of Andalucia, mountains and beaches. A short stroll from the Attico brings you to fantastic views of lake Vinuela and the mountains.

“FABULOUS GET AWAY FROM IT ALL VACATION”

The attico is the perfect location for a relaxing twosome holiday. A car is a must to get around, beach and shops 20mins drive away. Located in a scenic and wide open landscape. Plenty of trails for hiking. Owners are helpful, hospitable and friendly. Cant wait to go back!

Response from the owner The property is on a mountain side, 1,500 ft altitude and approached by a mountain road and track, all clearly indicated in the photos on the website. This should be no problem for a competent driver in a suitable car. Why refer to this after you chose to rent the property? If you don’t want to drive on a track book an alternative property. The property is in a mountain environment and subject to seasonal winds, which move around leaves and dust, the ‘debris’ you refer to. The pool and surrounding area are cleaned twice a week and the pool netted daily, the water quality is tested weekly. A rental of £33per night does not cover the cost of a full time pool attendant. You booked a self catering holiday and were free to net the pool yourself at any time. Glass table tops in the pool area despite being cleaned were a bad choice by us and will be replaced in due course. Both roof terraces were swept when the property was cleaned prior to your arrival, also the property is not advertised with air conditioning. The scruffy area you refer to is where maintenance materials and equipment are kept, no pretty but essential, and this area is not in the eye line of the views from the property and is not part of the rental area. No one else has had a problem with Wifi, maybe you need a more powerful device. You are entitled to your view of the bathroom decoration. This is a rural cortijo with a simple basic rustic style, clearly indicated in the photographs. One set of towels are provided, as per property details. If you wanted or needed more, you only had to ask, and there is a washing machine in the kitchen. The property is advertised as a peaceful rural mountain style holiday for visitors who want a more ‘Real Spain’ type vacation. Some of your comments and observations clearly indicate that you mis-booked, it is your responsibility to research where you are going, the local facilities and environment etc. We are sorry your visit to rural Spain fell below expectations and hope it doesn’t put you off visiting Spain again, maybe a villa by La Vinuela or hotel on the Costas next time.
