Description

Melbury is one of four chalets set in the grounds of a working dairy farm in North Dorset. Awarded 4* by Visit Britain this Scandinavian style accommodation is perfect for families and friends re-uniting or as a base for exploring our beautiful Dorset countryside
Spacious throughout with all mod cons. Two bedrooms on first floor and a downstairs double. This bedroom leads out onto an open plan kitchen diner and lounge. The large master bedroom has it's own balcony and en-suite shower room and the twin room has views towards the wooded Duncliffe hill and Shaftesbury beyond.
The lounge leads out onto a large veranda with it's own six seater hot tub. After a long tiring day sightseeing why not unwind in your own hot tub whilst watching the brilliant orange sunset go down.
Melbury chalet is the perfect base. Central for many attractions such as Salisbury Cathedral, Bath & the coast. Closer attractions include Shaftesbury's Gold Hill, Stourhead, Longleat & Dorchester.
The latest facility is a new games room. just a short distance from the chalets. It comprises of table tennis, air hockey, table football and two coin operated pool table's. Plenty to keep you occupied.

“Easter weekend”

We arrived on the Friday the house is just beautiful and the Hist Christina is lovely nothing is to much trouble for her. Added bonus was the hot tub Christina maintained it every morning making sure tempreture was correct and fluid levels were right it was truely a dram weekend . Plenty of space we went with 2 ternage boys and a 3 year old plenty of toys and games ect to entertain. Decided to return in the summer as it was so lovely in winter so can only imagine what it’s like in the summer . To say it’s a working far we never saw the farmers or heard any noise . The kitchen is more than well equipped you only need to take your own food there was nothing they hadn’t of thought of. And even the the grumpy teenagers loved it they was constantly in the hot tub or watching films relaxing was nice to see . We visited waymouth which was a hour away kids had a great afternoon in the Archades . Followed by fish and chips at the local chip shop on the front .there is plenty of info in the house for all ages and plenty of bathrooms with is a bonus with teenagers ! All in all I highly recommend here and the staff are so lovely . We are rebooking for the summer .

Our family and close friends chose to holiday in the UK this year. Our daughter had never experienced this, as we were always mindful of the weather! Deepest Dorset holiday chalet met all our requirements roomy,en suites, dishwasher and the hot tub. The cattle in the field caused amusement, concern and wonderment in equal measure. We checked each morning if any calves had been born through the night. Cristina was available but not "in your face", and met our needs very well. We would recommend Chalet Melbury to all our friends and the area has a diverse selection of activities and things to do; which kept us busy throughout our fortnight. Fantastic!!!!

“Perfect for us!”

Had a lovely 2 night stay in Melbury chalet. Worked perfectly for us, 2 adult couples and 2 teenage boys. All rooms have en suite which is fab, hot tub and peaceful location add a feeling of luxury and the chalet is clean, warm and well equipped. The games room was a bonus esp as weather was rubbish!Host was friendly and helpful, definitly would stay again and recommend! Tip - If you want to eat at local pub then do book ahead!

“Gorgeous Getaway”

Our stay at Melbury Chalet was lovely. The chalet is furnished to a high standard and stocked with everything you might need. The bath robes were a very nice thought and the hot tub was a massive hit! It is set in lovely countryside and provided us a much needed weekend of relaxation and catching up. We went in October and it was nice to hole up for the weekend but I imagine in summer it is even lovelier with the terrace area, lawn and picnic tables. It would be ideal for a large group renting out a few of the chalets. We had a little difficulty finding it to start with as it is quite remote and located down a county road. We walked down to the local pub on the first evening and had a delicious meal and on the second night managed to find a Indian restaurant that delivered to us. The only two things that could be improved was check in was a little late-16:00, if you're only there for the weekend it doesn't give you that long. Wifi would also be a great addition as reception is very petchy. Otherwise it was perfect and hopefully we will be back!
