Description

1920s Detached House with large garden. In one of Weymouth's most desirable residential areas with a very large garden, ten minutes walk from the beach, next to Greenhill's beautiful sea front gardens. Number 6 is a recently refurbished large house, well equipped for family holidays. The house is located right next to the Lodmoor Nature Reserve and Country Park so there is plenty for families to do all within 5 minutes walk of the house, including the sealife centre, crazy golf, go carts, outdoor green gym and childrens play park.

Number six is a traditional 5 bedroom house with many original features and a large country garden to relax in. The Kitchen opens out to the dining room, which has French doors opening into the garden, making a fantastic living area for group holidays. With the Jurassic coast on your door step too, whether you want to stay in and cosy up in front of the fire, or get out and explore, you won't be stuck for things to do!

Weymouth was the venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing competition and the local facilities are excellent. The Town centre is less than 1 mile away where there are a wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainments.

The ground floor bedroom is a zip link and so can be a King Size bed, or made into a twin room if required.

Parking for 2 -3 cars on the drive way and based in a quiet rural street with plenty of on road parking.The Garden is large with a large decked area at the end which gets sunshine all day.

Getting around

The house is based on the edge of Weymouth, so it is easy to walk to the beach, to the town centre, and to the local supermarket, meaning you don't have to drive if you don't want. There is a whole childrens centre 5 mintues walk from the house, including the Sealife centre, Sandworld, pirate mini golf, and lots more. Weymouth is 2.5 hours from London Waterloo on a direct train.

“Perfect house for a family get together :)”

We booked number 6 for a family get together for various birthdays, and we all travelling from different parts of the country. The house was big enough for us to all stay and not feel like we were crammed in. Plenty of space and everything there thats needed. With it being October we didn’t use the garden, but this would be perfect in the warmer months. Was ideal that there was parking, plus free on street parking. We’ve stayed in another place in Weymouth near the harbour and parking was a nightmare…so was stress free with this house. Took us a while to work out how to use the modern hob but once we found the instructions we eventually worked out how it worked. Would recommend this to anyone considering staying here :)

Spent a wonderful Christmas here with a group of 10 and 2 kids. Lovely touch with welcome hamper and cheery Christmas tree. Loved the dining room the best, huge table, plenty of space for meals and to play board games altogether. Neat comfortable bedrooms. Great Location near beach, town, shops etc. Good parking for our 3 cars.

“Fabulous house”

This is a fabulous house with lots of room for a large family (6 adults and 5 kids). The property is well equipped, extremely clean, warm, very comfortable and in a great location. We didn’t need to use our cars over the weekend as there’s so much within walking distance of the house. We look forward to returning!!

“Absolutely Perfect!”

Wow! What an amazing house and beautiful garden! Fantastic location, short walk to the beach, sea life centre and other amenities. On arrival we were met by Casey (who, by the way, is lovely, friendly and welcoming) she provided us with a superb hamper, which was very much appreciated as it meant we didn't have to dash off to the shops. Although there is a lot to do in the surrounding area we were happy to spend a sunny day just around the house and garden. My family and I would rate this holiday home for many reasons ... for cleanliness, location, space, kitchen, dining area, garden, comfy beds (I could go on...) we had a wonderful and memorable holiday staying at Number 6 (wish we could have stayed longer!)

“Fantastic trip”

Myself and a group of friends stayed over the new year period. We had a fantastic stay, the house is very well presented and looked after. The house has a huge kitchen and dining room and is plenty big enough for 12 people. A short 15min walk along the beach front and your in the town centre or you can get the bus 2mins from the house. We all had a great time and would definitely visit again.

Response from the owner Disappointing though this review is, I think it goes some way towards admitting the blatant careless attitude the client had towards the house during their stay. The few requests we have in place, such as separating recycling from rubbish, is not for our benefit, but that of the planet!! What the client also failed to mention in this review, is that firstly, the charge for replacing keys was lifted, because I was ill, I couldn’t be there to put two sets in their hands, so we didn’t charge them for loss of keys ultimately. What we have charged them for however, and they haven’t revealed is; towels were taken from the house, drawer knobs ripped off and lost, various tea towels thrown in the rubbish bins, (discovered when broken glass which should have been in the recycling sliced through rubbish bags), a second broken toilet (we assumed the cost of the first one as a wear and tear issue, and managed to get parts and a plumber there by Tuesday first thing after being notified about this on Saturday evening), furniture was moved all over the house, and a pet rabbit was brought to the house – which is completely against house policy, and is clearly on the website for viewing at the time of booking. It is annoying to have to levy the first charge in 5 years, we would much rather the house was left clean, and in the condition in which the client finds it so that we don’t have to rush around fixing and replacing things so that the new arrivals find it in the best state for their holiday.
