Description

Escape to this stunning Shepherd hut off the beaten track.

This oak framed, traditional style, luxury Shepherd hut offers the opportunity to retreat to the heart of the countryside in the Peak District. Located a mile off the beaten track down a private drive; our Shepherd huts are set in their own field on a traditional working farm. Surrounded by stunning countryside featuring pastureland, moorland and ancient woodland the huts are designed to be a perfect combination of luxury and tranquility, to transport you "away from the madding crowd" ... and world.

Hen Cloud is handcrafted and meticulously planned to create a calming, relaxing environment in which to feel at ease from the moment you arrive. With glorious rural views from every window.

The hut offers the following amenities:

* King size luxury memory foam mattress wall bed complete with all linens

* A well equipped open plan kitchen area with small fridge, gas hob and gas oven.

* Dining area with seating for and dining equipment for 4

* Private ensuite shower room with towels, hand wash and shower gel

* A log burner, already laid and a plentiful supply of logs.

* Outside terrace with table and chairs

* Firepit / BBQ combination for wood fired cooking and 2 sumptuous beanbags to soak in the suns rays or the night sky!

The farm is renowned for its ancient woodlands and features one of the oldest Oak trees in Cheshire which you see on your approach to the Shepherd huts. Upon arrival, you immediately relax into the environment. With livestock and wildlife all around you, nature is literally on your doorstep as are many of the areas stunning local landmarks - which are directly visible from your accommodation: such as the Roaches and in particular Hen Cloud.

Whether your are looking to just immerse yourself in the Peak District or to take advantage of the proximity to Manchester or Sheffield, there is a wealth of things to do right on your door step. We hope you will be as inspired by the area as we are.

**Please note that due to the rural location mobile coverage is extremely patchy. The rural wifi should be of sufficient speed for wifi calling if your phone is enabled for this.**

**Please also note that there this one other hut across the field - Dane Valley Shepherd Hut. Please contact us if you wish to book both.**

“Peace and tranquility”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2019

We stopped in hen cloud, and were met by Emma the owner who can’t do enough for you The shepherds hut was beautiful, it had everything you could need. Every detail was of a high standard; it was comfortable and cosy, with the log burner it heated very efficiently and stayed warm. The views from the hut were breathtaking, I could sit on the porch all day admiring it. If you want to get back to nature and away from the conformities of modern life this is the place to go! Waking up in the morning to the sound of pheasants and bird song, the walk down to the river behind the farm is beautiful and if you are lucky you might see some deer like we did! The general area has lots of hiking routes to explore...the Roaches, hanging stone, Luds church. The local pub (the Ship inn) is quaint and serves good food and Winkle brewery is a must to visit for a pint or a coffee on the way back from your trekking. We will most definitely be visiting again, highly recommend visiting here.
