“An ideal holidays for mind and body”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2014

My family and I visited Vasilikos for the fist time in the previous year (2013). It is needless to say that we were impressed to such an extent that the decision about visiting this place again was unanimous. In spite of the fact that this time a lot of beaches, taverns and the villa itself were very familiar to us, new opportunities and experience appeared again. And this is the most peculiar and distinctive feature of Vasilikos and Zakynthos in general. The villa is located in such an area that one can easily get to all useful facilities feeling free to choose different ways of spending one's time: swimming in crystal clear sea, going for a walk, visiting some taverns, bars, driving quad bikes or enjoying the magnificent sceneries from the boat. The very villa presuposes really homelike and warm atmosphere, achieved not only by authentic furniture and a great private library but also (largely) by the very hospitable attitude of the owner of the villa Petros who is always ready to help in arranging one's holidays in the best way. All in all, this place is ideal for having a really good time, having fun, enjoying sea and interecting with another culture. It is unquestionably worth visiting.

“a little peace of heaven”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

After 2 months of extensive research, I found La Dolce Villa. My initial reaction on seeing the photos and the description of the villa was - Perfect..... Indeed it was! From the very moment that we met Petros Vitsos at the airport we started one of the best holidays we've had. The Villa was even better than the photos. Surrounded by a copse of trees off the little coastal road. The house had every comfort from the large bedrooms , the windows bringing in light and providing vistas of the whole property. The large kitchen had every conceivable item one would need, even the pantry held all the basic staples even to the extent that there were conserves made from the fruit trees by the wonderful Maria , Petros' mother. Fruit trees, fig , apple , pear, pomegranates and the edible grape vines. And the chickens at the end of the property promising a hearty breakfast. An evening ritual of swimming in the delicious sea at our own private beach enjoying the late sun setting at 9pm. Most importantly was the heartiness of our hosts. Always willing to provide information about this wonderful island . Petros even took us to tavernas and beaches off the beaten track- magical. We as a family have travelled extensively, frequenting hotels eg." La Cala de Volpe" in Sardinia, "Villa D'Este" in Como, "Las Ventanas" in Cabos Mexico. What we experienced at "La Dolce Villa" was a wonderful house with the most hospitable landlords that wanted us to leave with best of memories - an we did

“Beautiful villa and lovely, peaceful location”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2013

I stayed at this villa with my partner, two children aged two and four, my own parents and my husbands parents in May 2013. The villa is absolutely stunning, very spacious, beautifully decorated and maintained and with every comfort catered for. Petros and his family made us feel extremely welcome, meeting us at the airport and whisking us back for the villa where a welcome drink of homemade lemonade and almond cake awaited us! From that moment on nothing was too much trouble for them, including fresh eggs from their chickens for my little girls most mornings and helping us purchase meat for a BBQ in town. Vasillikos is such a lovely area and the beach, a short five minute walk away, is a beautiful natural beach well known for its nesting turtles (they put protection around their nests so you know not to go near them) and very safe to swim in and for children to play on. There are three tavernas within walking distance and all offered lovely, traditional Greek dishes. We had the perfect restful holiday and I can't wait to go back again. I have no hesitation in recommending this gorgeous villa and Vasilikos resort in Zakynthos.
