“What you see is what you get.” Absolutely perfect place to stay if you are visiting Northumberland and this cottage offers fantastic views, great location and very comfortable relaxing surroundings. To be able to sit in the evening and watch an owl hunting in the adjacent field whilst the sunsets over alnmouth is idyllic. Alnmouth is an easy stroll for walkers of around 2 miles or a quick trip in the car, with good parking near the boat yard or all day on the common next to the beach. We could not fault this cottage as it has everything you need for a relaxing break and the owners are onhand if required. Best night sleeps we have had for a while and we just loved the peace and quiet. This is definitely on our list for a revisit at some stage.

“Lovely stay” Lovely flat in a great location. The flat was comfotable and had everything we needed. The beach was very close by. Beadnell is small but had a shop, a pub, restaurant and a fish and chip shop. There are plenty of places to visit nearby especially if you like castles. The only thing that could have made it better was the weather.

“Cosy Nook - great value and good location” Lovely house, great value near centre of alnwick. Plenty of space, bedrooms and bathroom all excellent. Only criticism of house would be that some new utensils and pans are needed in the kitchen. Otherwise, a really good place to take my children.

“A peaceful home from home.” Dune View is a lovely home to spend a peaceful week in wonderful Beadnell. Plenty of space for a family of six, we were a couple though. Everything you could possibly need is in the cottage. We were very comfortable there. Beadnell is a quiet place but The Craster arms pub and Beadnell Towers Hotel are both very good for an evening out and serve very good food. The best thing about the cottage is the close proximity to the glorious beach and small harbour. It is also well placed to visit al the attractions of the northern half of Northumberland.

“fanastic accomodation and situated in a good place.” We recieved good service from the start. The house was well equiped, clean, comfortable, warm, and generally good all round. The gardens were nice and decent sized for the kids to play in. When we first arrived we felt like the house was in a unlikely posistion but it turned out to be a good central base. it was nice to be able have things in walking distance, such as the shop and the beach. There was ample space for a family and it also felt quite homly. The thing we liked best was the two living areas, the two batrooms and the comfortable beds. It probably would of been better if the garden had of been fenced in but it wasn't really a problem. We very much enjoyed our stay and we would love to go back again.

THE GRANARY, family friendly, luxury holiday cottage, with a garden in

Longframlington house

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 4

“Best Holiday In Years!” The Granary is a cottage to fall in love with. From the moment you drive through the gates, to discovering and falling for this sumptuously appointed and spacious holiday home, to waving goodbye and wishing you didn't have to, I cannot rate it highly enough. For a couple or small family it is just superb and my fiance and I only wish we could have stayed there during the summer months to enjoy the patio etc fully. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms particularly are as if brand new, simply stunning and near faultless, the 2 power showers excellent, although the shower cubicle base did fill up to the limit within about ten minutes for those who like me enjoy a longer shower! But the over bath shower next door was of the same type and did not suffer this minor problem. Great tiles, mirrors, lighting, heated towel rails, etc etc. Kitchen utility area and downstairs toilet beyond it are a real bonus and all so well presented you felt pampered. Fully equipped kitchen, only gripes were tin opener wasn't working and no egg cups, I defy you to find any others! The sunsets from the large kitchen cartwheel window were beautiful and provided some lovely snaps of my car. The plentiful books/crosswords/Dvds/CDs/games were a nice touch and added to our holiday, as did Hamish, the friendly doorstop dog! Comfy beds, although we found the 2 seater sofa of only average comfort, a bit slidey and needed a throw. Enjoyed the candles and woodburner and melting pleasantly even during the cold spell, plenty of wood and coal supplied for a week. Central heating superb although smoke alarm annoyingly activated whenever grilled anything. Lots of places to visit in all directions, Alnwick, Berwick, Morpeth, Rothbury, Coast, what more do you want? The owners were very cheerful and helpful although they were in process of moving out. We were greeted by the new owners who we also found friendly. Ah, the memories. Best holiday in years!!!

“fantastic cottage and location” The hosts were very welcoming and a lovely welcome hamper with goodies. The hoe was spacious and nicely decorated throughout. Inside was suitable for person in wheelchair to get around- however steps up to property. downstair bathroom with shower (not level access)wonderful patio doors on to the decking area at the back of the house overlooking out onto the fields and garden. Lovely kitchen / dining area. Upstairs rooms spacious and again well presented. Downside was the mattresses in the rooms apart from main bedroom were not of good quality. The gardens and games area were a big bonus. Local pub food not great. Good location for exploring surrounding area and nice to come back to a warm house. Had a great time and would go back again.

“A friendly welcome.” A cosy and well equipped cottage where we were met by the owner who explained all that we needed to know about the property in a friendly and welcoming manner. The location just suited us as we have a young child who loves time on the beach as well as visiting historic sites.

We were greeted on arrival by the owners and told where things were and the nearest local supermarket was for shopping. The cottage was very clean and modern with ample space for everyone with a nice garden at the rear of the property. Cottage was spotless and very romantic - lovely modern decor, gorgeous four-poster bed. Even nicer than it looks in the photos. Great location for exploring the area - we walked on the beach, went to alnwick Castle and Gardens (inc the Treehouse restaurant!), Dunstanburgh Castle, Barter books...all within a ten-fifteen minute drive. Friendly, helpful owners. Will be recommending to friends and family who want to explore Northumberland.see more
STEPHEN'S COTTAGE, family friendly, character holiday cottage, with a garden in
A lovely house in a beautiful part of England.

On arrival the owner called in to see if we had any problems, then left us alone for the rest of the holiday. We were delighted with the house which had two lovely bathrooms and a large kitchen which was great for six people. It also had a big walled communal garden which was ideal for children. There were lots of beautiful beaches within reach and we visited lots of castles and gardens. We did see everything at its best as we had hot, sunny weather. We can't wait to go back.see more

The owners were very kind .. from the initial welcome pack (with goodies for humans and dog!) to ready availability to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was like a home from home, very comfortable and beautifully equipped. The village of Lesbury is picturesque, and ideally placed for visiting many surrounding attractions, including the nearby lovely beach at almouth. Best liked - the general comfort of the cottage and location. Least liked.. the weather! (but can't blame Sykes Cottages for that!)see more
