I have stayed at Galare Thong twice now for a total of over six weeks. Last visit i tried another Condotel and checked out after 2 weeks to move into Galare Thong.
Staff at Galare Thong are helpful, the bistro serves excellent value food, and the security around the condo is good.
The condo we stayed in was spacious, modern, very clean and comfortable. Cleaning service was excellent.
The location is OK, good for access up to the night market and the "social district" on Loi Kroh road.
I would stay again and would recommend Galare Thong especially to travellers staying a little longer. Weekly and monthly rentals are very cost effective. -

I stayed 2 times at Galare Tong (once in an apartment, once in a studio) and I was happy with both stays. The units are modern and comfortable, with all the necessary amentities. The location is good, not too far from the city center and yet quiet enough. There is also a shop and a pleasant bistro in the building.
The service provided by the owners was excellent.
I hope to stay at Galare Tong again in the near future. -

spainNice stay-Bad manners
Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in November 2012
The appartaments are OK for the price. I can´t say the same wit the people´s behaviour regarding the clients. The lady owner (The actual owner is a Belgium guy, quite polite) is a very arrogant and nasty person. We asked the staff if we could keep our room the day we were living for a couple of hours after 12 0/c. They said it was OK ´cause no other people were coming. One hour later came the land lord lady pushing and kicking the door willing us to pay for one more day!. When we tried to explain to her what happens, she got furious...
The locations is quite far away from the center, but this is (my point of wiew) a plus and not a minus.Only 20 Baths away by song tew..
Nearby there are quite a few restaurants and bars, and if what you want is to experience the real Thailand, is a place to be. You can stay for a short or long term, and the appartamets are well fournished and the air-co works ok.The breakfast is simple, but there are plenty of other places for nice coofee and breakfast.
What we liked the best: The rooms, the location.
The least: the landlord lady
They should build a swimming pool...

Hi,,
This is Sami at room 611..
The noise, stamping and jumping ...coming from the room above me disturbs me to have a nice and comfort stay at your hotel and that make me little in bad mood..Because the lack of sleeping and rest?!
I took up this matter with yr employee Ms. Wanwisa a week ago and she promises to check it out and deal with it, but since then nothing happening, I leave her notes and calling sometimes but still nothing happening..Even I suggest moving me to another room, still...
In case you couldn´t fix my little problem.. What are my chances to collect halve of my down payment of the amount 10.500 Baht if I check out now???
I hope hear from you soon.
Best regards

Galare Thong Tower Condominium provides good accommodation at a reasonable rate of rent. It is in a quite locality and I enjoyed stay there. When I reached there the room was not ready and I had to wait for sometime to get the room ready for occupation. Another problem I encountered was that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and you have to go outside in search of hotels for the Breakfast. (It may be noted that the room rent is inclusive of Breakfast.)

Left on 01/25/2013 for a stay in November 2012
Galare Thong is an excellent place for a longish stay in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended.
A lovely little studio with every appliance you could wish for if you want to cook and a good restaurant on the ground floor if you do not.
A comfortable settee and excellent TV and DVD player. The two lifts (elevators) are very fast and always worked. This year will be my third visit. If you have any problems Khun Wanwisa will deal with them promptly.
It is a little way out of the centre of town but there are regular Song Thaos on the Chang Klan road and usually some waiting outside Park Hotel which is just around the corner.( I hired a scooter from Tony's Big Bikes.)

Pros: Building was very clean and nice. Everyone that worked at the office, the cafe, and the condo owner were very nice and very responsive. Good location if you plan on using a tuk-tuk or taxi to get around. Condo was very roomy and clean.
Cons: Only 1 really. The mattresses on the bed were rock hard. The owner made every effort to add padding to make it more comfortable, but we are used to western mattresses. This isn't just this particular condo, the office said all of the condos have the same "mattresses". I'm from the us, and these were more like hard box springs. I hate to write anything bad, because again the owner was great and everyone there was great -

Galare apts are a good place to stay with a great restaurant.
I usually rent a bicycle for mode of transport around chiang mai very convenient
It is a little way from the centre by foot maybe 20 minutes walk
You can be lucky or unlucky with your room thay are rather old now sometimes a good view
The mattress on my last stay was undoubtably the worst I have ever slept on
however value for money I would not hesitate to stay there again -

The good thing going for Galare Thong is that it is in a good location and the rooms are kept in good steads. The cafe downstairs is solid and the staff as a whole are really awesome. The drawbacks are your normal stuff; if you stay past your allotted time it can get seriously pricey, That is if you decide to do a lease, the electric bill and water are outrageously priced (near to doubling the rent). Be wary. There are other issues, that depending on where you are from, can be (or not) annoying. There is a loud bar on the same soi that can rock until the late hours. There is the danger of flooding during rainy season to deal with as well, but hey, you are in Southeast asia.

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in July 2012
Me and my partner were travelling for 6months so we wanted to treat ourselves to an apartment to feel like we had a 'home' for a few days. Upon looking around online at price etc, Galore Thong was the best value for money and the rooms looked nice and clean so we went for it! The room was lovely, a lot of space, clean a home from home and have us a chance to cook spaghetti bolognase and a roast dinner!! After 6months home comforts were a real treat, although now I really miss Thai food!!! Best in asia!!
Would recommend this place :) -

I picked the Galare Thong on a whim and I am very glad I did. My room had all the comforts of home, fully furnished and a nice view from the balcony. The service and staff were great. I especially loved the restaurant. The food was so good, authentic Thai dishes and good sandwiches. I can't wait to visit again.
My only complaint is it is kind of a long walk to the Old City, but it would be hard to find another place so nice at such a great price. It would be hard to find such a lovely place to stay period. Loved the Galare Thong. -

BrisbaneAwful Disgusting Hotel
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in June 2012
Room was cheap. That was OK. But . . . the cleaners we're disgusting! We arrived back to our room and found all our bags had been thrown outside in the walkway. We had been moved out.
Then, the cleaner yelled at full volume voice at me and my family as we tried to enter the room we had paid for. Very disgusting behaviour.
The manager came as her heard here screaming aloud. She sounded like a psychopath.
I just commented to the manager who remained calm, that you can fix this and I will say nothing, or, if not, I will tell the world on hotel review sites. So I'm telling you. Don't stay here. It will wreck your holiday. Pay an extra few bucks and find yourself a hotel that has some good reviews. Be warned! -

More often than not you picture of what you rental is going to look like that just never live up to what you actually end up getting. I can say in this case it was exactly the opposite. Was much more than I expected and a great value. The building and the amenities were all top notch. Having lived and traveled throughout Thailand for 3 years now I can say this was by far the nicest place i ever stayed. The unit itself was up to the nicest of 5 Star hotels and the building had a great restaurant that delivered to your room if you wanted and was very centrally located. When I move to Chiang Mai in the spring I am going to try to wither get this unit or another unit in this building as for the it is such a great deal even at twice the price

Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in May 2012
I lived in Chiang Mai for 5 months, and spent my last month living in a room at the Galare Thong apartments. It was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I for the month. After living outside of the city centre for 4 months, it was nice to live closer to the action of Chiang Mai. With the night bazaar just down the street, we were within walking distance to anything we really needed, and a short ride on our motorbike or a tuk tuk to anything else. The place was clean and the service was excellent. We had our laundry done for very cheap, with just dropping it at the front desk. We often enjoyed meals at the restaurant on the main floor, which had delicious food and excellent service. We have recommended others to stay here in the future for both short and long term stays!

I stayed at Galare Thong for 3 weeks. The room was quite spacious with a small kitchinette equipped with almost everything you need including a coffee maker, that made possible to get good local coffee and enjoy it every morning in my room. The location is a little bit far from town center but you can catch a red bus in the main street nearby very easily that takes you to Night Bazzar and Old Town with just 20 THB. There are cafes, restaurants, convenient stores, etc within walking distance. Highly recommend, especially for those who look for long term accomodation.

Cafe was OK. Room was semi-OK but Tiny ants everywhere, not OK. And dangerous getting in/out of bathtub (it's Thailand). The laundry rm at the front entrance stinks, badly (Thailand). Electricity and water bill way too expensive. I left a week and a half early (had rented for the month)...went back to the Galare Guesthouse on Ping River...so much nicer. Thailand is great, but it can be dangerous, and expensive (for what u get). I won't stay at this condo again.

The Galare Thong condominium is an excellent place to stay for short or long term visits to Chiang Mai. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and the service was friendly and fantastic as usual. The rooms are very spacious and nicely furnished with cooking facilities and a nice big tv and sound system. Its located within a 5-10 minute bike or tuk tuk ride from everything in the centre of the city and has most things needed to eat at home within walking distance. There is a lovely view of the city and mountains from the balcony and was always a pleasure top eat out there. All in all a fantastic place to stay for the price and i will return again for sure.

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Was a good value for a long stay but information online was not all correct. First & foremost was that the apartment map location was incorrect. There was no literature provided in lobby about local dining or things to do. There was a language barrier that included not being informed before check in about being charged for a deposit, cleaning service or towels. Concierge service/room service was nonexistant as there was no phone in the room. Furnished kitchen included dull knives. Marbled bathroom included a mildewed shower curtain that kept falling. Air conditioning unit in the room dripped constantly. Small balcony was unusable as the heat exhaust from the air con unit made it unbearable. The bistro did have good food.

Though the apartment is located away from the city centre, about 4-5 km, it provides a reasonable and comfortable stay in Chiang Mai. Room was exactly like those in the photos. Bed and upholstery were comfortable. There were small issues with the bathroom water down pipes, but Eric was very helpful.
It's an apartment without a pool. Only amenity it has is a cafe on the ground floor. Didn't bother us too much as swimming weren't in our itinerary for Chiang Mai.

Recently updated, tho not quite completed when we moved in,nice furnishings, comfortable, clean, pity the smog was so bad, as the mountain was blocked out a lot of the time, and the balcony very small but adequate. All in all very good value for the money. Tho not as advertised a 10 minute walk to the main area and night market, it was a good 45 minute walk, but in a red taxi was less than an aus. dollar. I would like to have been made aware before arriving of a deposit, and water charges as well as the electricity.

Paris (France)Nice accomodation
Left on 02/17/2012 for a stay in February 2012
I stayed in this studio during one week and enjoyed very much this accomodation which is like a second home. The studio (39 SqMr) is plenty of daylight, quiet during days and nights. I like the large cupboard, the balcony, and the full size bathroom, as well as the fully furnished kitchen.
The maintenance is ok, and cleaning is good. Something I disliked however, was that the cleaning lady changed the location of personal belongings. This never happens in hotels, and makes you suspicious. Another minor drawback is the time taken to fill in the bathtub with hot water. This is due probably to the heater. the air-con is good. So is the TV, with plenty of channels.
The check-in is standard. Everything being done swiftly while very casual. The people at the reception desk does not pay particular attention to you througout the stay. No good morning, no Hello, unlike people in Thailand, but it is back to normal at the coffee shop, with really nice staff. I was not satisfied by the lack of information regarding check-out time, which is not mentioned, not posted somewhere, and the staff at the reception desk was not able to answer properly to this question, due to poor English. After you check-out, do not expect any store room available for your belongings, which will stay somewhere in a corner of the lobbby. the risk is small, but not inexisting.
The location is not great, but convenient, as at 3mn walk from a main road, plyed with Tuk-tuks, and taxis (shared) are plenty. Expect 5 to 10 mn to reach the "square", and less for the night market.
In conclusion: if you live like the locals, it is a very good experience.

Cooking your own food is no problem.
Many kitchentools are available.
The cleaning of the room was good and the lady of the cleaning-service
very kindly (also all the thai personal of the Galare Thong Tower).
Wenn you like to stay in a quiet area (not to far away from the
centre of Chiang Mai), I recommend all visitors of Chiang Mai
to stay in the Galare Thong Tower.
Within 20 minutes you can walk to the centre or you can go by taxi
for a little amount of 60 Thai Baht.
Wenn you stay a longer time in Chiang Mai you can book a room in

next time I will return to Chiang MaI and the Galare thong tower

Galare Thong is a very nice apartment building in Chiang Mai. The apartment we stayed in was modern and clean. We found the staff at the front desk friendly and helpful. As a short term visitor to Chiang Mai, I would give this place 5 stars if the location was a bit better. Unless you have your own transport, you will have to walk about 5 minutes to the main street to catch a red taxi or tuk tuk. There are always plenty of them in the area. Getting back from town to the apartment can get tricky unless you can speak Thai or have the address written in Thai to show to taxi drivers. The location is about 10 minutes from the old city and Night Bazaar. The apartment building is in a quiet area which has a more residential feel. I would say that it's a great spot for longer term rental as well. Swimming pool / gym would be a bonus. Overall, very pleasant stay

Room is in good location, not noisy during nights.
Quite good for Chiang Mai standards. It looks clean and quite new. better than many hotels in Chiang Mai.
Air condition looks new and works well, and it's well placed very close to the big confortable bed.
There is tv, sofa and kitchen with some tools, microwave, toaster, juice blender but not rice cooker.
Bathroom is fine.
Recommended for long term stay, for those who are in Chiang Mai for work.
The condo anyway lacks of other attractive facilites (common, i would say standard in other Thai locations like Phuket or Pattaya) like swimming pool.

It was not easy to communicate with the people of reception, no english or not at all
the kitchen range was not with good utensils for electric what could be dangerous.
also the smell at the kitchen for the vermin, dishes where not clean before enter(cigarette buds between dishes)
A mosquito net on the window is a great must.
Cleaning well done, but kitchenclothes not available in the linen packed, it was not possible (a must, even for a studio)
Generally good value for the price

I spent a short time at the Condo and found iy very pleasant and comfortable. The condo was clean and well maintined and the management was very accommodating to my needs. I chose your condominium because i had stayed there before and enjoyed it then.
But i must say your friend George did not say very nice things about he condo, telling me it was noisey because apartments were being renovated. He did all he could to get emt to stay somewhere else. -

Initially we chose to stay at this appartment complex because we had come to visit family for New Year and they were living in the same block. This proved to be very convenient. However in addition to this we found the staff, particularly the lovely lady in the cafe where we breakfasted each morning very friendly and helpful. Our appartment was clean and had everything we needed - we would not have had such an enjoyable and comfortable stay had we opted for a hotel. We found the kitchen facilities very good and I even cooked a traditional English christmas dinner in my brother in law's appartment. Our appartment on the 4th floor had a slightly disappointing view from the balcony (building works next door), however the view from my brother in law's appartment on the 12th floor was amazing (especially at night)! The location is great, easy to find our way to and from the Night Bazaar by tuk tuk or on foot; but far enough away from the centre of things to be relaxed. We would definately return to the Galare Thong if we were to visit Chiang Mai again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very nice and newly renovated and the restaurant was very convenient. Tak, the restaurant manager, was especially helpful and friendly. The check-in seemed a bit disorganized and the lobby could be more welcoming. Overall a really great place to stay longer term and for very reasonable prices.

I had a very comfortable stay at this place. It was excellent value (i think it was £52 for the week)the staff were friendly and the room was very nice with the widest bed i have ever seen. With a fully kitted out kitchen,a flat screen TV and DVD player i had a very pleasant stay here. There is a 24 hour reception so that gave me peace of mind and they don't mind you having guests either. Also a continental style breakfast is included in the price.
The only 2 drawbacks for me were it is a bit too out of the centre of Chiang-Mai for my liking, making tuk-tuks a neccesity and the breakfast came with the worst Orange Juice i have ever tasted ! -

These apartments are well furnished and provide all you need. I have found it ideal for a one week stay on 3 occasions. It is a good 15 minute walk to the night market area but it is quiet because the building is set back from the road in Chang Klang. You can get a Sorng Tow at the Park Hotel nearby if you prefer not to walk.

Good size clean room, A/C is a plus. Kitchen and utensils are handy. A bit disappointed with wi-fi in the room, oftentimes we had to use it from the lobby/restaurant area instead. If you decide to stay there, I suggest you rent a vehicle because I think it's worth it (rather than paying for taxi/motorcycle service everytime you want to go to downtown Chiangmai). Walking is possible, but you don't want to walk too long under the sun.

Chiang MaiVery nice but a bit too noisy to be comfortable
Left on 04/21/2011 for a stay in August 2008
The room itself was very modern and had nice appliances - coffee machine, toaster, microwave, flat screen TV. The furnishings are also modern making it quite good value for money. However, the wireless internet was also very poor and I often received little or no signal.
During my stay there was a lot of building work going on both in and around the apartment block making it very noisy. It is also down the street from a kareoke bar which is also particularly loud.
The pavement outside the building is extremely bumpy and not very safe to walk or drive on.
There is not a great deal around this apartment block to do, you have to take a tuk tuk and the restaurant is expensive and does not offer good quality food. -

Left on 04/21/2011 for a stay in March 2009
The apartment was nice, although off a large, very busy street that was not ideal. At that time, there was a lot of construction going on in the building, which made it noisy. Otherwise, the apartment itself was very clean, convenient, nicely stocked kitchen, DVD player and bedding. We would consider staying there again if we could find out that there was no construction going on on the same floor as the apartment.

Apartments are well laid out, very clean and quite spacious. Nice Bistro on ground floor and a small shop for essential supplies. I will be a repeat customer.

I stayed at Galare Thong (Chiang Mai) for six months from July 2010 to January 2011. The location of this condominium building is extremely convenient -- it is within walking distance from Chiang Mai's justly famous Night Market and the inner city. The studio room which I occupied was nicely decorated and furnished and fully fitted out with kitchen utensils. Khun Wanwisa, the lady who manages Galare Thong, kept my room spotlessly clean. All in all, I can highly recommend Galare Thong as a good place to stay in Chiang Mai, either for a short period of time, or for a stay of longer duration.

The price was right, for sure! For an old guy, it was a bit of trek to get to the eating establishments nearby--but worth the effort, and not a problem for younger folks. The room (actually an apartment) has every convenience, was clean as a whistle, and provided the perfect place to rest, study, and see the quieter side of Thailand.

Left on 04/19/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Great friendly service at Galare Thong. I stayed for 2 weeks in March in Superior Suriya room. 4000 baht per week. Excellent value. Includes free breakfast and room is cleaned 3 times per week if you are on weekly rate. Spacious room. Very nicely decorated. Good furniture. Flatscreen TV 32" and DVD player. 30 minute walk to night market or very cheap taxi/tuk tuk ride, 5 mins. 7-11 nearby and many local shops, cheap massage nearby also. Galare Thong also does laundry very good price and has very good bistro. Very nice Thai food and western food also. Good value. Galare Thong is in a good location and is very good value. I have stayed in a few hotels in Chiang Mai and it is the best value for money I have experienced. Weekly rate is very good. The staff at Galare Thong are very friendly and very honest. Wanwisa does a very good job and she looked after my suitcase for free when I travelled for 2 weeks before coming back. Very clean rooms also.
Only downside for me was no swimming pool which is reflected in the price. There is a very good swimming pool at Chiang Mai Land which costs 50 baht to use for whole day. It is approx 20 min walk or 5 mins in tuk tuk.
Will definately use Galare Thong again and again whenever I am in Chiang Mai. -
