Chattanooga, Tennessee, United StatesFantastic Experience
Left on 02/25/2013 for a stay in January 2013
From the first inquiry to the return of our deposit, this was a great experience. We stayed 7 nights, and sailed 5 out of the 6 full days there on the Florida Bay. The room was very clean, the view outstanding. If you like "cozy," this is the place. The on site resident managers, Danny and Michelle, were more than accommodating, and we were treated like welcome guests, not just random occupants. The boats were in excellent condition, there are three, one for each lodging spot. Danny took time with us when we arrived to make sure we were comfortable with the boats. If we had been novice, he could have been hired to give sailing lessons during our stay. He and his wife, Michelle, lived on board their Morgan for 5 years, so he knows his stuff, plus he has his Captain's License for like 100,000 lbs. vessels or something like that. The owners, Tom and Peggy, live close and you are invited to use their gazebo on the atlantic side by their house, beautiful place to watch a sunrise or sunset, great photo opt. The fleet of bikes, almost antique bikes, are all kept in good running order by Danny or Tom, and the bike trail beside the bridge for four miles one way provides a safe and interesting peddle as you cross over a water pass. Fresh fish can be had a few hundred feet from you place from a commercial boat that arrives on Conch Key every weekday around 4:00 p.m., but you must clean them yourself. Fishing from the near by bridge is fun. If you love sailing, or think that you could love sailing, this is the spot. We could not have been more pleased.

The cottages beautifully decorated, immaculately clean. The boats are well maintained and very clean, too. The owners and managers are friendly and go out of their way to point you to the full "key experience".

Sailing buddy and I looked for an affordable place to sail in warm waters and we found it with Caribbean Soul Charters on Conch Key. Our comfortable apartment came with all the amenities, especially the great little sailboat, well cared for and well equipped. Located in the Middle Keys, laid back Conch Key is an easy drive to any of the sights along the Keys. The little store just down the street carries Key Lime Pies, and the local fishermen come home in the afternoons with a fresh catch. Hosts Tom and Peggy are gracious, and Dan and Michelle are there to help, too. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

As a frequent visitor to the Florida Keys, this has been one of the best hideaways that we have discovered and love to come back to. It is rare to find such a nicely maintained sailboat dedicated to you along with your accommodations.
Conch Key is a unique fishing village on an charming island in the heart of the Florida Keys. Marathon is just 10 miles away where you'll find a multitude of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. The proprietors are helpful, friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. We have had the opportunity to stay in each of the 3 units in the past. Each has their own unique charm. Two thumbs up!
