A wonderful place to stay in

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in August 2012

Garveys Holiday Cottage is a great place to stay in for a company of travellers, especially if you are interested in active tourism. The cottage has a central position in the gaeltacht, so that the distances from Dingle and from Dunquin are practically equal. It's absolutely ideal if you travel by car or by bike. If not, you just have to call a taxi from Dingle, where buses arrive. As a matter of fact, there's a shop in Ventry village, and that's very close.
There are quite a lot of things to do around: boat trips to the Blasket islands, horse riding, trekking, wind surfing, even swimming, which is allowed in special places (in case you don't mind the temperature). If you are interested in Early Irish history, there are lots of sights around and also a small museum in some 100 metres. Anyway, you can get a full account of activities in the cottage.
The cottage itself is tidy and has all the amenities one may need (including washing machine and dishwasher) - I don't rememder lacking something for the kitchen and the bathrooms were fully eqipped.
And, last but not least, the hosts - Mr. and Mrs. Garvey - are very friendly and always ready to help if their help is needed.
Those two weeks that my friends and I stayed there were a wonderful time, really!

      Magical Dingle Stay

Left on 12/09/2012 for a stay in July 2011

My group and I were so well looked after at Garvey's cottage. Joan is a wealth of information, a wonderful cook, and a very generous soul.
The cottage has wonderful ocean views with a short walk to the cliffs, and is perfectly located for other scenic tours/pilgrimages in and around Dingle.
Dingle is truly a magical place with phenomenal sights, walks, and people. I would highly recommend anyone to come and stay here if they wish to experience something of the old and true Ireland. I miss Dingle and look forward to another visit.

      home away from home!

Left on 12/06/2012 for a stay in May 2010

this old newly restored farmhouse is very cosy and comfortable. it is situaed close to sleahaed and only e few kilometer away from the town of dingle, where you find shops, restaurants and pubs and of course Fungy. from the house you have a beautful outlook to the sea and you can do very nice walks towards the seashore or up the mountains behind you.
the house is clean, very well furnisshed and the kitchen will offer you anything you might need.
there is a beautiful garden with lovely green bushes and flowers, and you find total privacy.
mr. and mrs. garvey are heartful, friendly people who represent the hospitality which is the second nature of the irish.
