We have stayed in this unit approx 15 yrs. Its better than being at home. All new appliances.

All-in-all, we had a very good time at Ocean Reef. The Gated Community was a plus, the swimming pool, basketball, and shuffle board were all a treat for my family! Proximity to the beach was the best we have experienced and we have been to E.I. for many years.
Unit is definitely a "Gold" standard. Clean, well appointed, great master mattress, slept really well! The pull-out sofa was comfortable as well. This place had everything we needed.
The only thing that we found negative is the fact that you can hear people walking over-head (we were in the first floor unit - best beach view). There were some young children above us and it was like rolling thunder sometimes until 11:00 P.M. The folks above did say that they were trying to keep the young ones quiet, and being that we have kids, we were understanding. I think others may not have tolerated that so well.
This is the first year we have stayed in a condominium, and we did sacrifice some privacy. I am not sure how to rate this issue due to the quality of the property and the amenities at this location. That is also something to think about.

We love this place. We stay here every year same week. It is an adult vacation. There are four of us each year. Our only complaint is the parking situation. We understand why you have to control it, but we can't even have a local friend and family visit with us. I know that the Ocean Reef community probably controls this but we travel 1200 miles for this week and it would be nice to have our local family visit with us during the afternoon. The public lot next to Ocean Reef is entirely to expensive.

The condo was wonderful(stayed there before) and location is great. There was little beach left after the storm which made me sad. I hope they rebuild it before next year.

We love the Ocean Reef complex, especially those on the oceanfront. This condo was very comfortable and furnished nicely. The second bedroom was perfect for my son and daughter. We would definitely like to stay there again.

Everything was wonderful. After having stayed at another condo for a couple of years that was starting to be neglected, it was so refreshing to stay here where it was obvious that the owners cared about the place and their guests. Everything worked. Everything was clean. The bed was wonderful. It is just a very nice place to stay and we can't wait to come back next year.

My 50-year old son and I liked the home and the location. The king sized bed[All beds were] was extremely comfortable. We liked the linens provided and the fact that we could use the telephone. I am using a walker and a cane so my son had to go up and down the stairs mostly. I liked least that we could not have a pet there.

This was our first stay in Emerald Isle and we loved everything about it.The Tiki Hut check in drive thru was a breeze! Our unit in Ocean Reef was emaculate and we loved being right on the ocean.We just walked off the deck onto our private walkway and were on the beach.The convenience of providing linens and towels was a plus too.Lovely,quaint little shops plus all the beach stores so you could find anything you need.Loved the Ice Cream shop:)I would recommend The Charlton for dinner,excellent service&food.There; are also fresh seafood markets,we went to Capt. Willis,their Tuna and shrimp were to die for!!Emerald Isle and it's surrounding communities have a lot to offer...private,beautiful,uncrowded beaches,clean,pristine and everyone is so friendly...it's the sourthern way.Having a pool was also a plus.We will definately be back.

Overall, the stay was wonderful. The condo was the best decorated and most comfortable of all that we have stayed in at Ocean Reef. The view was awesome and I watched dolphins from my deck on a daily basis. That's priceless! However, the place was not as clean as usual. It needed dusting and there were crumbs on the kitchen floor when we checked in. The dishes also had to be rewashed. This was a minor inconvenience and took about fifteen minutes of my time to correct. I had the option to call housekeeping immediately for them to correct the issues, but I opted not to. I'd stay here again, but would hope that the next time, I won't have to chose to clean or not to clean!

Kudo's from Seneca Falls, NY. Our first trip to Emerald Isle. We usually go to Wrightsville. We had a wonderful time and Ocean Reef is great. Easy access, minimal traffic (important with little kids), great/prompt service when we locked ourselves out :), and close to many different attractions. We can't wait to come back next year. We enjoyed the small community of condos which made for a very spacious beach. Great pool, tennis and shuffleboard area. This condo is ocean front and has great access directly to the ocean. Also, we liked the fact that a garage was available for either a car, or in our case, bikes and beach stuff. The home also had a washer and dryer for use. Just a great overall place to stay for a small family who likes ocean views along with some additional amenities.

Emerald Isle Realty is very organized and there to serve the customer. With the express check in and check out we spent only a few minutes total in their parking lot and never had to go into their building. We had to call EIR's maintanence dept. to come fix the stove and they were there within 10 minutes which we appreciated. The condo was beautiful, clean for the most part and was fully equipped with anything needed. The view was beautiful and sand only steps away and the pool equally convenient for my kids. Downfalls - description said it had HBO - but it did NOT. You could hear every step the people upstairs made which was really only bothersome when they were up walking until 3am. (Which happened on 3 different nights for us) There were a few big dead bugs when we got there but we saw that it had been treated for bugs a couple weeks prior to us being there. (Which again we were appreciative of. Better dead bugs than alive!) The clothes dryer was in need of repair because it took at least 4 times on a full cycle to dry a very small load of clothes. I would recommend this condo and we plan on using it again in the future.

I spent a wonderful week at the Ocean Reef 5-B-1 Condo in Emerald Isle, NC and had a wonderful time. This was the first time I had been to Emerald Isle. I ususally travel to Nags Head but this year I wanted to go somewhere different.
The condo was close to the beach than I had even planned, just a short walk across the street was the pool and tennis courts which made it easy to pop back and forth between the beach and the pool.
When I reached the rental office they had my keys and pools passes ready and waiting for me. I just drove right to the condo. Everything was in order when I arrived. I'd definitely recommend this condo and have to my cousins especially if you want to spend alot of your vacation at the beach. It was such a relaxing vacation! I'll be
back next year.
