We rented this house for a family get together the first week of November. The house was in excellent shape, very clean and well maintained. The location was right on the beach and at the end of a dead end street. Perfectfor the kids. Nicely furnished with relatively comfortable beds. Wewould love to come back.

This was our second year renting both sides of aboard Delight. Our family comes from NJ, NY, Ohio and NC every summer. This house is extremely well equipped inside as well as items for the beach. Having the linens and towels provided and the beds made was a fabulous plus that was included in the rental cost. It was one less thing that I had to worry about bringing down in our loaded car and it was fabulous to not have to make beds...a great way to start a fabulous vacation!! The closeness to the beach was great too since we had 5 children (4 boys under the age of 4) and they often needed to go back and forth to the house. The addition this season of new furnishings in the living room area was a definite plus to both sides of the duplex. We enjoyed using the picnic tables on the decks as it enabled our "active" family to spread out!! The little ones really enjoy the swing on the porch. The location of this home in a cul-de-sac is great for our family since it is much quieter, no thru traffic, and area for the little ones to ride the bikes and play when they are not on the beach and lots of parking area. We will certainly enjoy coming back to this same rental again next year. We have rented many types of homes/condo on Emerald Isle over the last 30 plus years and this duplex rates extremely high on our list...that is why we returned to it again this summer. Thanks to the owners for providing so many extras that made this house a home away from home.

Aboard Delight E & WEnjoyable long weekend at the beach

It was an "at the beach" experience. Somewhat dated and worn but comfortable. Appreciated the fully stocked kitchen since we cooked through out our stay. If I had the option I would enjoy a comfortalble bed over a tv in every room.
It gave us everything we wanted in beach front scenic beauty. Walking the beach was a joy!
Loved the swing and rockers on the porch,however the picnic table gave us limited space to allow everyone to relax on the porch and enjoy the view.
Emerald Isle realty gave us great service and will use them again in the future.

"Aboard Delight West" provided a perfect setting for a reunion at the beach for four families. A Missouri family, along with my two daughters' families gathered at the cottage for several days of renewal, remembering, and catching up. (Our Missouri friends have been coming with us to Emerald Isle over about forty years, with only a few missed years.)
Our stay? Fantastic! The agent patiently walked me through the process of signing on for "Aboard Delight". When we arrived at the cottage, entrance to the driveway was flooded due to torrential rain. Emerald Isle Realty arranged for us to park the cars which could not clear the water at an EI listing close by, making it possible to move in right away.
The house was clean and beautifully decorated.
The whites, blues, and pinks made for a pleasing setting. The house was well stocked, neat, and comfortable. The location was excellent. The many TV's/DVD players were helpful giving the 2 year old and the 4 year old a setting for time apart when needed. Even though it rained two of our days at the beach, we were comfortable and secure. We loved the porch swing and water for hosing off as we came up from sand play. We made great memories and I would choose "Aboard Delight" again.

My friends and family have been vacationing in Emerald Isle for 20+ years and love it everytime! We rented both sides of Aboard Delight this year as we did two years ago.
This house is just perfect for us as it has the perfect number of bathrooms and bedrooms and the living area is a nice size. The house is always clean and we've never had any maintenance problems.
Our favorite part of the landing on the dock and the deck itself...we spend the entire day and night out there or on the beach.
All vacationers agree that the part they like least about the house is the beds. They are very cheap mattresses and very uncomfortable. The master bedroom bed has a dip in the middle causing both sleepers to roll toward the middle. The other mattresses were just uncomfortable.
The second thing we didn't care for was how the kitchen was stocked. We had plenty of silverware and plates and cups, but the pots and pans were sparse (only one pot) and the cooking utensils were all plastic. We ended up borrowing quite a few things from the other side. We also didn't have any pot holders.
Other than the beds and the kitchen we don't have a single complaint and we all plan to rent for another week next summer...we'll see if it's this same house or another one.
Thanks again for another great vacation...Emerald Isle does a fantastic job making check in and check out super easy and we all appreciate that.

Aboard Delight West was one of three houses our family rented for a reunion. It is well equiped and furnished - a good layout for small or large group get togethers. The beach front location was exactly what we required for our group and this location fit that bill well. The Nelson's welcome gift was a delightful touch.
The only things that were a disappointment were the master bedroom mattress which lacked reasonable support for two people and the sheets that were too small for the bed and installed inside out. The verticle blinds in the master bed room were missing three slats - one was on the floor in the closet, the remaining two were found stashed under the bed. I would think that this simple repair could have been taken care of before our arrival.

The house was beautiful and well kept. Overall our experience was excellent but the one thing I do remember is a holiday card we received from the owners. It was much appreciated.
