The house is perfect for us with grand kids ranging from three to 17 with the putting green, pool and shuffleboard. We did have some linen issues this year but Gena at EI solved them for us. The new outdoor shower was a hit but needs a door. The only continuing problem is the poor water pressure (zero att times) on the top floor but the ground floor outdoor shower helped that. Another great year - already signed up for 2012!
Our stay at the Olympia created some wonderful memories for the family. It was our grandchildren's first trip to the ocean, and they were amazed, thrilled, and very happy all week.
We had a great time at the Olympia. All the extras were great - the putting green, shuffle board, pool w/ shady deck area, foosball. The walk to the beach was very easy and the beach, as always at Emerald Isle, is wonderful. The living areas were spacious and comfortable. Only one note about the layout of the house, two bedrooms (one with bunks, one with a king size bed) were both located on the ground floor at the back of the house, near an external backdoor. The four kids with us (ages 7-10) were not comfortable staying in the basement by themselves and we all ended up on the 2nd and 3rd floors with the kids sharing day beds and a double bed instead of sleeping comfortably downstairs.
Great amenities. Got no response first time I called for some maintainence . but second time ,quick response. Initial cleaning upon arrival was poor. Sand all over floors.
We have stayed in many rentals in Emerald Isle over the years and this was definitley at the very top! Great location across from the public access and wonderful ocean views. The house is gorgeous and the floor plan is terrific for many people to stay there comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking (which is rare) and organized. The pool, game room and shuffleboard were fantastic to keep the kids occupied when away from the beach. We will be back...Thanks!
Generally in good repair and close to beach access. Extra outdoor stuff (putting green, shuffleboard, etc.) was fun. Karioke was broken, video games disappointing, however, movie library is outstanding.

The Olympia is a great beach vacation rental. The kitchen is large with ample dining space to accomodate the renters with not feeling cramped. All the bedrooms were furnished nicely and the linen service is the only way to go! The views of ocean were breath-taking from the wrap around balcony. The game room is awesome for all kids and even the adults. The pool, shuffle board and mini golf added to our beach experience and made it the "Best Ever". We look forward to returning to The Olympia for another beach week with friends! A special thanks needs to be mentioned to the Emerald Island staff as well...you are a CLASS ACT!!
