The home was very spacious for our 2 1/2 families. We loved the bedrooms with baths...central area for eating and hanging out. But the best of this house are the views of the beach and ocean from all floors. The four master bedrooms have beautiful decks with views and we loved sitting out in the afternoon on the deck having a drink and watching the kids swim.

We loved the location, the house, the beach, the pool, the wildlife and everything that went along with it. The wooden decks and walkway were the only things that concerned us due to the rusty nails and splintered wood. Everything else was great for our family. Plan on returning next year but will need more private bedrooms but in the same area of Emerald Isle.

Our stay was very enjoyable.The house felt like a home away from home! The furnishings were kid friendly, and comfortable. The bedrooms were very spacious,and the view from all the rooms were amazing. We enjoyed having an elevator, since my husband and I were on the top floor! We have rented this house for 4 years for 1 week in September. We love the house and the location. However, we all feel that the house needs some attention. The beddng should be updated, the carpet needs to be replaced, and a fresh coat of paint is needed

Northern VAReverie Return - Needs a bit of sprucing up

We stayed here before a few years ago and loved it - Still great location, fabulous beach and deck and lovely house - Sad to see that it wasn't well maintained - Kitchen sink chipped and a bit rusty - counters getting old. Blinds on door of 2nd floor balcony rusty and awful. Carpets in stairs are dirty and need to be well cleaned or replaced. Sofas in living room a bit saggy and in need of some cleaning. Musty smell when entered lower level to load elevator. Kitchen counters a bit worn. Outside of house needs cleaning or something - pink color a bit dingy looking. They never replaced the hanging bouys from the top of the house that blew down several years ago when there was a threat of a hurricane. The deck table needs a good painting. The house looks a bit neglected and it is so sad. It has such potential and yet it is a little less than it should be and once was. These are fairly easy things to fix and must be if it is to stay a "platinum" level house. We want to return over and over, but you need to spruce up the house a bit - There are other houses in better shape with similar offerings - please take care of this gem of a house in a great location -Fortunately the beach and the pool were absolutely fantastic and that is the main thing

Our check in rep was very helpful in getting us the keys,housekeeping was a little behind.We love our four master suites,the kitchen layout and the overall Roomieness of the house.The decks over looking the ocean provide us with cocktail moments.We would like the rugs on the steps up dated and perhaps new bedding,outdoor Jacuzzi?

The house is nice and very comfortable. However, we were there when it rained for the 4 days. There is a hole out back under the oval window, so the water would leak in. It also leaked in the other windows... We found ourselves taking towels and putting them in the windows so it would not ruin the wood. Would be nice if they fixed the leaks and repainted the outside of the house.

We;ve stayed at Reverie for a number of years and have recommended it to others who have used it as well. However over time, the quality of the house has not been maintained. For instance, in the last two years, the house was not clean when we arrived, nor was the elevator working which is one of the reasons we rent Reverie. There were not any glasses, fewer cooking utensils, etc. While we like the layout of the house and the location, we will not be going back there next year.

I understand that the elevator wasn't functioning when you arrived so you couldn' take advantage of that amenity. Though, I am happy that we got it fixed in he beginning of your stay so you weren't without it altogether.
As for the cleanliness of the home when you arrived, I apologize. This is not the level of service for which we strive. Should this ever happen again, please let us know when you arrive. We'll get a cleaning crew to the property to clean more efficiently.

This is our seventh year at Emerald Isle, and our seventh different home. Reverie is very spacious with four large oceanfront master bedrooms, each with a large bathroom. This is a wonderful home for those desiring to have more than one oceanfront master bedroom. This beach location is our favorite (having stayed at 4 homes within 20 homes of Reverie). We called Emerald Isle Realty Service, and they were quick to respond. They fixed all of our minor complaints; however, the upstairs fireplace is not in working condition. Some of the VCR/DVD players were not hooked up and had no cords; remotes were missing batteries or had dead batteries. The carpeting and some of the furniture was dirtier than we would have expected in such an elegant home. Despite this, we would definitely choose this beautiful home again.

Eight of us stayed a week at Reverie. The house is so big, many more people could have stayed and not been in each others way! It is right on the ocean with a fabulous view.
The house is well appointed and the kitchen is a chef's dream; lots of utensils.
The only issue we had was with the elevator. It is very sensitive and won't work if doors are not closed perfectly. Otherwise, this is one of the nicest rentals out there! We definitely recommend it. -

Emerald Isle Realty is the only place we will rent from ? excellent staff and if we had any complaints they were right out and fixed it.
Reverie Cottage is a beautiful home and just perfect for 4 couples. Everyone has a master suite with a private bath and oceanfront.The location in Dolphin Ridge was perfect - a really nice development.
The only problem with this home is that the kitchen needs updating ? the stove top is in very bad condition as well as the oven, the ice machine was broken and their were no fry pans to cook with. (I had brought my own and left them for the next family). It would have been nice if the water softener was working as well.
We will still come back to this Cottage we just hope the owner will do something about the kitchen appliances.

Great location, beautifully situated on the water, walking out to the beach. Comfortable floor plan for family with adults to very small children. House needs some work, example leaky faucets, broken appliances, grungy kitchen sink which was very bothersome since we cooked the entire week. Large kitchen to accommodate a large family. Carpet needed cleaning. In spite of this we had a great time together.

This home exceeded our expectations. Our multi generation family stayed there, coming from Massachusetts, Illinois, California and Norht Carolina. The beach was perfect and the view was lovely. We spent all our time at the house and beach. There was no need to go anywhere else as there was so much space and so much to do in the house. There were so many common areas that different subgroups of family could easily gather to spend time together on differnent activities - or be alone if they wanted. There were several decks on different levels. On one (with its own sound system) some kids were learning to jitterbug while on another two of us did yoga. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. We loved going up to the tip- top roof deck to watch the fireworks from communities all around us on July 4. We had a ping pong competition, and played pool. One niece had made slide shows of the family and converted them to DVD, so each night we all watched one in the theatre room. We had a water balloon fight that ranged all over the decks and exterior (then we had to clean up all the balloons!!!) The quilts made by the owner were real works of art, and we spent alot of time examing them. The builder of the home happened to come by, and he talked with us about some of the details he had crafted- particularly the woodwork. I highly recommend this beautiful home.

Our stay at Reverie was the best out of the last twenty or so Emerald
Isle rentals. The weather was perfect, and the house was quite
comfortable for us and the extended family. The bedroom suites were
beautiful and all the furniture was comfortable. The common areas
provided plenty of room for eating, reading and assembling jig-saw
puzzles. The deck system was exemplary, with good shelter from the
sun and plenty of room for us to set up a tent for our grandchildren.
Best of all, the pool provided a respite from the heat of the beach. We
were fortunate this time, as many times before, to be beachside on the
Fourth of July. We ate on the deck and watched fireworks up and down
the beach. I have fond memories of Emerald Isle, and hope that one

We stayed at this home in early November. We had 4 generations with us, including an infant and an elderly woman. I chose this home for the elevator (for great-grandma) and for the multiple master suites. The view was beautiful and we opted for the heated pool, which turned out to be broken during our stay, for which we were reimbursed. The home easily accomodated our party which included 6 adults, 2 kids and an infant. I would have liked the home to provide more for the baby such as a crib, outlet covers and a high chair. We were able to rent these items through Island Essentials, but the crib was a metal hospital crib and the first linens they sent were rough, cheap and didn't even fit. Upon calling Island Essentials back, they sent much nicer ones. The kitchen was well stocked, except for coffee filters and we were able to prepare a decent dinner there. The barbecue also was a nice touch for burgers. The kids enjoyed the game room and the DVD player was nice for their favorite shows. Overall, we were pleased with this home, but might not necesaarily stay there again.

We have a large group - four separate familes that all have kids. We've always stayed in a house that was really too small for us. This one was the most enjoyable stay we've ever had. There was plenty of space for everyone to be together or get away from the group as needed. With all the masters and different levels, varying bedtime schedules were must easier to handle. The location was delightful. And we all enjoyed the pool
