What a breeze, from checking in to checking out. Easy to find, everything was beautiful. Clean, Linens delivered right on time. The house was beautiful and so close to beach. Of course the weather was perfect the whole week. Definitely want to go back!!
We're surprised by all new stainless steel appliances in kitchen

Since we have been last, the owners have updated the second floor bathroom and it has a real spa feeling. All the kitchen appliances have been updated to stainless steel. Range has two ovens and refrigerator is roomy and has freezer at the bottom and drawers for produce and meats. Home is convenient to beach and has views from top deck. Perfect for a family with Wii system and trundle bed on lower floor.

We loved this house! We usually rent another house near this one... not anymore! This beach house has everything. The kitchen was very well stocked with any and all appliances, cookware, etc. we needed. Rooms were very tastefully decorated and fun. We were so comfortable here! Kids loved the Wii and the big TV was great. Thanks for the Wi-fi also!
We had two other houses full of family and we were all close. Beach access was right there. Views were spectacular.
Ei Realty took care of us for sure. Our other reservation was cancelled and they found this gem for us! Kept us close to our family so everything was fantastic!
We will definitely be back to stay at Barometer Soup West! Read more

A Great Week In Emerald Isle

This house and it's location are perfect! There were 9 adults and 3 children ages 2 and under in our party and there was plenty of room in the house for all of us. It's a very short walk to the beach, the grocery store is about a 5 min drive, and there are plenty of things to do and see within a 20 mile radius. The beds were comfortable, in fact, my husband and I slept on the sofa bed in the rec room and are wondering if we could have information on where that was purchased?? Our only issue was with check-in... We arrived and were given they keys around 3:30pm. When we got to the house the cleaning crew was still there with an hours worth of cleaning left to be done which made things a bit awkward. We ended up walking over to the beach but the situation did prove a bit frustrating. All in all this was a wonderful trip, Barometer Soup West is a tremendous value! Read more
Greetings! I did receive information about the sleeper sofa from this owner. It is an American Leather sofa sleeper. The material is Crypton and it has a tempurpedic mattress. She said the cost was around $2,900. It was purchased from McQueen's, http://www.mcqueensinteriors.com. I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your review of your stay at Barometer Soup West. It pleases me to know that you and your family enjoyed a great stay in Emerald Isle.
I have forwarded your review on to the owner of this duplex and if I receive the information on the sleeper sofa, I'll gladly forward it to you. As for check in, we do release the keys as early as 3:30 p.m. as a courtesy but housekeeping does have until 6 p.m. to complete their work. You should have received a yellow slip of paper, along with your keys, which explains this and I apologize if you didn't.
Thank you again for your feedback. We are booking for 2012 so if you'd like to return to Barometer Soup West, please call us to make your advanced reservation - 1-888-832-0140.

Barometer Soup West is very smartly decorated and extremely well equipped which helps lend to a pleasurable and relaxing stay. The property is near the end of a cul de sac offering easy beach access and a nice quiet atmosphere with little traffic flow. The only complaint that we have is that one week was definitely not enough!
We have been going to outer banks and emerald isle for the past 25 years. Baromator Soup West is one of the nicest-if not the nicest- rental home we have stayed in. It was well equipped from kitchen to books and games to play. Something for everyone. It was nicely decorated and clean.

We have vacationed at Emerald Isle for many years. This year we had to change rentals from the house we had stayed in for 10 years. We checked out several rentals last fall and discovered Barometer Soup! Our extended family rented both sides of the duplex. It proved to be a wonderful choice! The home was beautiful, well-furnished, in a great location and the floor plan worked great for us. We were a little sad to have to change houses, but we fell in love with Barometer Soup!! We hope it will be our new "home" at the beach for a long time as we share vacation with family and friends.

My husband & I rented Barometer Soup West along with 4 other friends. We couldn't have been more pleased with the house iteself as well as the beautiful beach right across the street.
The house was perfect- kitchen fully stocked with all the dishes, pots/pans, & cooking utensils we needed; large kitchen table for family dinners; bedrooms were nicely decorated; large outdoor deck with picnic table & rocking chairs; outdoor shower is perfect for after the beach; plenty of parking space in the driveway (4+ cars).
The only "negatives" of the house would be the "game room" downstairs- kind of random; we never used it. There is a downstairs full bathroom by the game room that we never used either, but may be perfect for children. Lastly, the living room space is relatively small for the size of the house/# of bdrms. However, we spent all our time at the beach or on the outside deck, so it wasn't an issue for us.
The biggest surprise to me was the beach itself. I'm from Virginia Beach, only a 4 hr drive, but the beaches of Emerald Isle are completely different- in a good way. The sand is white & very soft. The water was a pretty green color (I guess where Emerald Isle gets it's name...) & the temperature of the water was perfect (very warm, but still refreshing). My husband even lucked out with a couple days of good waves.
The beach access is VERY close to Barometer Soup- I'd say a 1 minute walk from the driveway to the sand. A wonderful trip, we can't wait to come back next year! Read more
Thank you for your review. I'm pleased to let you know that the game room which you mentioned has been revamped! The owners have replaced the windows and have added new furniture and a large TV. I hope you'll call soon to reserve a week at this duplex so you can enjoy these improvements!
