We had a very nice stay at the Sand Box in October. Access to the beach is very convenient. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.

This cottage was the best. The location and view was great. My family had a wonderful visit to the beach because the walk to the beach was very short just cross the road and to sit on the porch a view the ocean was just breath taking. Love the cottage...

This little cottage directly across the road from the beach is just the right size rental for a small, quiet vacation to Emerald Isle beach! The rockers on the front porch were the preferred place to relax, as the "sofa" is not very comfortable, but the rest of the place is! Three bedrooms set up for family, but work perfectly well for 3 single cousins to have privacy and together time. The best part is that this cottage was not over priced or over sized!

We stayed at the Sandbox cottage. It was well furnished and met just about all of our needs. There was a very nice view of the ocean from the living room, and a close "just across the street" beach access that made our vacation even better. Emerald isle itself is wonderful in so many ways, which is why we keep coming back!

This is the 5th time we have stayed at the Sandbox. The cottage has great beach and sound access. We are not dog owners or smokers and the cottage is always clean and odor free. We all like the Beds Made Linen service, something that makes settling in for the week much easier. The kitchen is adequately equipped. The covered porch has newer rocking chairs to enjoy outside. The one thing we would like to see updated would be the sofa in the living room. Overall the Sandbox provides the basics and is a solid value. We will return next year for our 6th visit.

We love EI!! We've been coming here for the past 16 years. The Sand Box was ideal for our family and pet friendly. The house was very clean. The sundeck is awesome! Beach access is very easy and only a short walk across the street. Great views of the sound and ocean from the decks. There were beach chairs and toys in the laundry room downstairs-a pleasant surprise! We had a little problem with the dishwasher, but it was promtly fixed after a call to EIR. We would definately stay in this unit again if we are looking for a second row rental.

We brought our two dogs to the beach for a week prior to our first son being born. The house serves as a basic beach house. The kitchen floors were knicked up and bathrooms a little dated. However, we spend most of our days on the beach and use the house for eating and sleeping. My dogs loved the covered porch where they could be corralled and watch the street. The yard was not the most pet friendly. Our one dog spent a good bit of his week with us pulling sand spurs, cactus needles and administering to his fire ant bites. That is just his kind of luck though. Sand spurs we understand, however the small cacti grow like weeds in the yard and the fire ant hills were plenty. The only other complaint was the traffic from the land lords extermination company. We were told by one man in an extermination company truck that the land lords of the house owned the company and these trucks would stop by from 8a-6p to fill up water tanks. If we were in the house it set the dogs nuts because of a strange vehicle being in "our" driveway. Overall, we enjoyed our week, wore out our beach dogs and had a nice time. It is very close to beach access so the walk is minimal.
