Dishwasher, answering machine, 6 cable TVs, 6 DVD players, stereo with CD player, wireless high speed Internet access, jacuzzi in MBR, hair dryers in all bathrooms, ceiling fans throughout, water softener. Extra refrigerator in downstairs storage area. Covered and open decks with porch furniture, dune seating area, gas grill, enclosed hot/cold outside shower. We had a great vacation and made many cherished memories. Space and layout was perfect for our family and the porch, complete with rockers and swing, became the main living space to relax and enjoy the great weather, view of the ocean and stars and moon at night. Just steps to access the beach was a major factor for enjoying our grandchildren during our time on the sand. Ei Realty made our reservation effortless and was available to assist with questions at all times. All our needs were facilitated in a personal way that rendered an excellent vacation. Thank you...!

We actually rented both sides of the house - East and West.We arrived late and had no issues getting the keys, etc.We have rented this house in the past and with Emerald Isle Realty several times.I am not sure what has changed but we were very disappointed.The house was not nearly as clean as in years past.We arrived to find that there was not a single roll of toilet tissue in the entire house, dirty linens from the previous guest (we assume) were laying outside the door on the east side and that is where they were still laying the day we left.The trash containers outside had not been emptied in some time and when we went to put trash in them there were maggots crawling on the lid of the trashcan.There were ants everywhere.I know that it is difficult to control these things but they were everywhere and there were what appeared to be ant traps everywhere.We had a very limited supply of bath linens.The towels weren't too bad but we only had 5 or 6 washcloths on each side.There were a couple of towel holders missing with only the brackets on the wall and there was one that fell when we tried to use it.There was plaster falling off the ceiling in one of the bedrooms on the west side.There was what appeared to be loose plaster on several of the ceilings throughout the house.There was no propane in the gas grill when we went to use it on the west side.Luckily we had both sides so we were able to use the other one.The house was just not very clean.When we opened blinds, etc dirt/dust would fly everywhere. We have rented through Emerald Isle realty in the past and we have always been very pleased.If this had been our first visit we would have opted to use a different agency next time.I will say that we had an electrical issue one morning - a breaker had tripped and we called maintenance. The gentleman came quickly and he was very pleasant and helpful.The house and the area are very nice.It is the maintenance/cleaning company that we had an issue with.

As always, if you experience issues with cleaning or maintenance, let us know as soon as possible so we can work to correct such things for you, during your stay. We're happy to send a housekeeping crew back out promptly if you're dissatisfied with the initial job. We do exchange propane tanks at our office or you can simply call us and we'll send someone to the property to exchange this for you.
I'm happy to know that our electrician was able to tend to the issue with the breaker quickly and efficiently. I have forwarded your review on to our housekeeping department so they can ensure this property is cleaned more thoroughly.

Good value for a gold duplex. I believe this home is priced at the lower end of the gold level homes.
Positives:
> lots of space (extra bedroom),
> well funrnished inside
> appliances (good tvs, new fridge, microwave and dishwasher - good laundry)
> good grill and great outdoor shower (convenient).
Negatives:
> old first floor carpeting
> ever present dampness in the air
> a noticiable and ever present nodor on the first floor
> last and prob least important, as I read on the reviews of the unit from previous residents, the deck furniture is ridiculous. It would be an upgrade just to have it removed and have none.Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 11/23/2010

My family and I had rented several homes on Emerald Isle for over 10 years and Ocean Watch West was our first time rental. We were pleased with the indoor accommodations where furnishings and decorations were kept up to date, kitchen was well stocked, and the house was spacious and comfortable. We had a small problem with the refrigerator upon arrival but maintenance handled the problem in a timely manner. Maintenance even returned a second time to assure that the problem was fixed. We always had quick responses to any concerns or problems we have had in any of the houses we have stayed in over the years. Emerald Isle Realty has always proven to be reliable and accomodating. The only thing I was disappointed with was the outdoor furniture at Ocean Watch West. Most of the furniture was rusted and two chairs were broken due to the rusting and aging of the chair. The East side appeared to have new outdoor furniture but unfortunately the West side didn't.

We have vacationed in Emerald Isle for about 10 years and Ocean Watch West is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in.There is obvious caretaking of this property- all the furnishings are comfortable and in good condition. Very clean.Well stocked kitchen. The only concern we had was that three of the mattresses there were very uncomfortable and creaky.

We get together with family at Emerald Isle every other year. This was our first time at this house. My brother and family rented the other side of duplex. We had a great time.The house was stocked with everything we needed. The location was great and the proximity to the beach wonderful as well. Other homes we have stayed at, all oceanfront, have had quite a few steps and a distance to walk to actually get to the beach. This was very easy to get to the sand. We had lots of adults and several children and really enjoyed the large decks and ocean views. We would stay here again.
