Interlochen State Park is also on Duck Lake (15 minutes away by car) and offers a boat ramp and huge sandy beach. (Michigan State Park pass required.)
This is an ideal area for nature photography, walking and biking and a great base from which to visit the area attractions. We are a 15-minute drive to both Interlochen State Park and the Interlochen Center for the Arts - the latter is known worldwide for music, art and theater. Check their web site for concert and event information and tickets. We are located 25 minutes from historic, downtown Traverse City which offers many fine restaurants, shops, the fully restored State Theatre, West Bay Beaches, and the TART trail.
Travel 30 minutes West and you will find the Betsie River Trailhead in Beulah – park at Beulah Beach on beautiful Crystal Lake – your first 5 miles of biking or walking will be alongside the lake!We are less than 1 hour from the Sleeping Bear Dunes - voted by the viewers of Good Morning America as the most beautiful place in America in 2011.
