This attractive, stone, terraced cottage is situated just off the High Street in the popular village of Hinderwell, in the North York Moors National Park and can sleep four people in two bedrooms.Lion Cottage is situated in Hinderwell in the North York Moors National Park. The cottage is set over three floors, sleeping four people and has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a bathroom, a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with an electric fire with a dining area. Outside the cottage benefits from a front lawned garden with furniture. With picturesque walks on offer nearby, Lion Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful area.

Amenities: Night storage heaters with electric fire in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, digital TV, DVD, Smart TV and WI-FI Inc. CD/radio. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Roadside parking 30 yards away (no restrictions). Lawned garden to front with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Beach 1 mile. Note: The twin bedroom is accessed by steep, cottage stairs.

Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Town: Hinderwell is a small, lively village close to the fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay. Hinderwell was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Hildrewell, a derivation of Hilda's Well, named for the Abbess of Whitby who was travelling through the parish in a drought and was asked to intercede. Her prayers were answered when a spring appeared near the sight of the present Parish Church, and this spring has continued to flow from the hillside to this day. The village is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside, and walks, cycle ways, gliding, horse riding and fishing are all well catered for in the area. Whitby is seven miles away and the town has a rich and varied heritage waiting to be discovered. This is a fabulous holiday base.
