LOTTIE'S LOFT, pet friendly, luxury holiday cottage, with a garden in

Grassington house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“More than what we expected, a jewel in Grassington's crown.” Lottie's was everything and more than we needed for our Christmas break in the Dales. From the moment we entered the property we knew it was just what we wanted, the owners had made a proper effort, with Christmas gifts for both of us and a small but lovely Christmas tree trimmed up to give the apartment that festive feel. It is ideally located right in the centre of Grassington, close to all the amenities and hostelrys. It was very well equipped and in pristine condition. The owners very kindly advised us where to park our car as parking is of a premium in Grassington. Say what you liked best or least, this is easy as the cottage was very good, unfortunately Sykes nor the owners can do anything about the weather which was rubbish!

BRIDLE COTTAGE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage in Settle, Ref 2781

Settle house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Comfortable and Surprisingly Spacious” Bridle Cottage is a comfortable and attractive stone cottage on three floors. It is conveniently located down a back street in the middle of Settle, just a few yards off the market square, meaning that all of the shops/amenities which Settle has to offer are within very easy reach. The house itself is surprisingly spacious, especially for the money, and includes an upstairs study (perfect for writing postcards in peace). The kitchen is rather small, but contains everything which is essential to holiday catering, including things which are sometimes overlooked, such a as cafetiere. The front room contains a log-burning stove, which is easy to use and earns the property its tick in the 'romantic getaway' box. One limitation is that the front room is rather overlooked by passing pedestrians, which means that you have to choose between privacy and having the curtains closed whilst you are in during the daytime. Also, the plastic windows don't particularly suit the traditional stone construction of the house and give a certain cheapness to a house which otherwise verges on the luxurious. Our holiday was done by train, so I can't vouch for the parking arrangements.

“A lovely place to stay.” The Friendly Room was just that. We felt welcome and warm after some wet walks in the hills. A marvellous walking centre for Ingleborough area with fine walks starting from the front door without using a car. The owners are discreet and friendly offering a cream tea welcome and all the local advice you need. The studio room is practical and stylish - the oven is a complete microwave/grill/convection appliance - much better than the advertising suggests! Perfect for a romantic stay.

“A cracking weekend” The ouse was excellent for our needs. Enough bedrooms to sleep us all. Games to keep us entertained, a week functioned kitchen. Wood and fire to keep us warm. From the village we were able to walk straight out of the house on to an excellent walk along the Dale tops without needing a car. Only downside - its a shame the pub has closed down - hope it reopens soon.

GRANGE COTTAGE, character holiday cottage, with a garden in Buckden, Ref 1574
Isolate Yourself in this Dales Cottage

Grange Cottage is ideal if you wish to isolate yourself from everyone outside Langstrothdale. The cottage has no Internet and no telephone. It does have two independent bedrooms and two independent bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and adequate to cook for yourself once in a while in an area with limited menu offerings. The combined washing machine and dryer is fr better at washing. We had an excellent time at Grange Cottage and would willingly return for a similar vacation in a few years' time.see more
TENNANT COTTAGE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage, with open fire in
perfect for walkers

we booked this cottage for 1 week in July to explore the Yorkshire dales both walking and driving and see Le Tour. It was cosy and very well appointed with a well equipped kitchen and lovely lounge room. We only needed to walk out the door to access some wonderful walks e.g. Malham Cove and Tarn. The National Park information centre was only 5 minutes walk away. There was a kettle BBQ which we used several times but needed to provide the charcoal. It was an easy drive to Skipton and many picturesque villages. The owners lived in a nearby village and had provided us with information about the area which was very helpful. There were two good pubs a few minutes walk from the cottage both of which served good meals and beer. We had another couple join us halfway through our stay and there was plenty of room with a second bedroom with two single beds. We would certainly stay at this footage again when in the dales. see more
WATERSHED COTTAGE, end-terrace, stone-built, garden, pet-friendly, in Settle
Lovely Cottage

Ecellent location for walking and visiting the Dales. Ecellent well loved cottage everything you would want for a stress free Holiday. The only downside was that the property was advertised as End Terrace with a Garden. In fact there is another cottage attached to the end, the garden is therefore accessed by going out of the front door along the road to second gate. However this is not a problem if you are aware of this before booking the property especially if you have a dog. Having said this it would not put me off booking this lovely cottage again. Thankyou very much to the owners who were very welcoming and helpfull.see more

Very high quality cottage in an excellent position for touring the Dales. The best beds we have had in a holiday cottage. Not really suitable for an old dog due to the upside down layout as the steps are steep. … see more

WENNING BANK, charming cottage with WiFi, garden, woodburner, close walking in
Perfect

This was our second stay this year at Wenning Bank and was as wonderful as our first stay earlier in the year .The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable ,on arrival there was milk, cheese, bread, butter, scones, wine, coffee etc ... so welcoming as are the owners , nothing is too much trouble . The super king size bed is a dream for those cosy lay ins and the log burner great to put your feet up to at the end of the day . The cottage is simply a little slice of heaven , the ideal place to re-charge your batteries. We look forward to another stay very soon .see more
