We loved the location, not only steps from the beach, but so close to all of our favorite attractions. The open, comfortable lay out was absolutely perfect for our extended family. All needs were met, from senior,to teens to young baby. We all had an unforgettable time. We were able to be together as a family for the first time in decades, and we will never forget the time we spent at Irish Mist.

The house was everything we expected. Very comfortable for 4 adults.
The location was great.
Attention to details required: telephone and internet were not working, one of the window shutters was banging when windy (mostly all night), the yard could be cleaner. -

Loved the keyless entries...no looking for a room key everytime you walked out the door or when you arrived home after playing all day! The home is very large and offered lots of sitting areas to either be with your family or have a little alone time. Great sound system and gorgeous views with a very short walk to the beach. The outside could use a little polishing up on the decks and it would be nice to have a master bathroom connected to the bedroom, but other than that it was wonderful!

Pittsburgh, PAIrish Mist has a great location, but needs a little TLC

Irish Mist is located in a perfect location - not considered ocean front, but no other property is directly in front of it, so you can sit on the deck and see the ocean. It is a great family house and very roomy. However, the decor is a little worn and needs redone, as well as the carpeting.
Loved the location. Outer Banks Blue is a great company to work with. I love having the sheets and towels included. It would be nice to have some garbage bags included in the welcome kid. One large garbage bag is not sufficient for a house that sleeps 11.
Finally, again, the location was great. The Hot Tub was nice, but only accessible thru one of the bedrooms, which was sometimes awkward.
The furniture and carpets need updateing. -

Your staff was very helpful in finding us the perfect home for our needs and checkin was very easy.
The home was very nice - the best part was the ocean view - we watched dolphins play in the ocean from the top deck. Kids have alot to do with the sand box and play area - located in a cul-da-sac - we enjoyed the basket ball hoop as well.
The house could use some updating - disappointed in the grill - but over all a great stay.

Raleigh, NCGreat place for a large family!

This property had several nice surprises for us. We were pleasantly surprised that the property had 3 separate gathering areas on the top floor (in addition to the 5th bedroom on the first floor, which could also serve as a small den) - 2 with TVs - that allowed different groups to watch a movie, chat or read. The pantry & large counter space in the kitchen was also a nice plus for us, as we did all our own cooking during our stay. Finding beach chairs & toys available for our use was also nice! Many of our family enjoyed the hot tub & the closeness of the beach. The view was great and the home interior was well maintained and attractive. One day a son accidentally locked himself out of his bedroom and when we called, someone came out and unlocked the door for us very promptly, with friendly service.
The house has 2 floors with a 2 car garage underneath. The first floor has all 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all accessible from the hall. (The Master bedroom does not have its own bathroom, but it has sliding glass door access to a deck with a hot tub.) The top floor has a good-sized kitchen, dining table with 8 chairs and several barstools that could extend the eating area onto the counter behind. It has a sofa facing the beach; 2 sofas facing a TV in a little alcove around the corner stocked with videos & DVDs, and a separate large den w/TV.
Nags Head in general is a pretty area with some shopping an a lot of beautiful uncrowded beach front. Like most of the outer banks, it is all residential houses for rent, not many hotels or condos, keeping down the crowds. We visited the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, which was not a long drive away.
The deck and house (especially side towards the beach) really need some paint and attention and it would be nice if there were a couple more comfy deck chairs, but in general, we had nothing to complain about and had a great time in the Irish Mist. We would recommend it to other large families or groups! -

Staying at the Irish Mist was a real joy. It was on the beach and had a great view. The kids loved the kayaks provided as well as the basketball hoop and jacuzzi. The house was very large, decorated nicely and had a tv in every room. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The place is centrally located and close to everything. We were able to do lots of sight seeing and have those relaxing "down" days on the beach. The house had 5 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms downstairs. There were enough beds and futons to sleep 14 with children. Upstairs there were 3 different seating areas as well as the large dining table and stools at the kitchen counter. A full size bath was also upstairs. There is LOTS of room! A large porch spans across the back of the house on each level. Having the showers and hoses on the bottom level was great for coming off the beach. Our kids were older, so they didn't use the sand box and play area under the house.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Outer Banks. Having this wonderful home to stay in was a real blessing! -

The home is very comfortable, spacious, and clean. It has great views of the ocean and a nice hot tub.
We had 2 primary issues that got in the way of it being a great space: 1. no lounge chairs on decks or beach chairs for beach; 2. internet modem was locked away so we could not re-boot it. Consequently, most of the time we had no service. This was important to us because it was a working vacation; but if it is not important to you, it won't matter.
Outer Banks Blue Realty is great to deal with. I'd rent from them over again.
