By far this would be one of the nicest places we have stayed both in New Zealand and overseas. The view is amazing. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. Close to the town centre and also to great waterfront restaurants. We would definately recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the Nelson area.

No need to go out every night just sit on balcony watch the sun go down with a glass of wine and a BBQ.

The location is superb and we count this as one of the best places we have stayed in during our trips to New Zealand (probably over 50 places over the years). Mary goes the extra mile to put in flowers, Nespresso machine and coffee,basics for a breakfast, bath robes and full size bath towels (not the skimpy ones most provide) not to mention the mega sized BBQ as well as the free videos and great TV.
It was so nice that one day we just sat on the enormous balcony and enjoyed the view.

Nelson is conveniently located near abel Tasman National Park and fabulous vineyards. Within walking distance of the property are two top-notch restaurants: The Boat Shed Cafe and the Harbour Lights Bistro.
The apartment itself was roomy and thoughtfully laid out for guests.
I only wish we had been able to stay longer! -

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at arrow Rock . The apartment is intimate and well appointed with everything we needed for an easy and relaxing stay. We felt the rental cost was extremely reasonable for the level of comfort provided. The bed was very comfortable, the flowers smelt divine and the espresso machine a bonus.The view was glorious . Why would you stay anywhere else if visiting Nelson ? We left feeling happy and content.

What an awesome find for us! I'm from west coast. nz and never usually go to Nelson, so my sis and I went for a break at labour weekend. It was such an awesome place. The weather was spectacular (forecast wasnt when we were heading there). Even if it hadn't have been I don't think the view would have been too bad anyway. Nice and private. We will be back!

What a great place to stay – we were absolutely thrilled! My wife and I spent a week here while holidaying in Nelson and loved every minute of it. The apartment is first class and the views are amazing – we will definitely be back!
Located in the Port Hills, the apartment affords spectacular views over Tasman Bay and the ranges from its expansive deck. The sunsets were unforgettable! It is only about a 5min drive into the Nelson CBD and about 3min drive to Tahuna Beach – great location. Reasonably priced restaurants are either in the CBD or south along the main road about 5min to Tahunanui.
The apartment is very roomy and comfortable, 1 bed, 1 bath and a large lounge with views over the bay and outdoor flow onto the private deck. The small kitchen is functional and equipped with pretty much everything you might need, except an oven. Facilities include TV, DVD, stereo, Apple Movies (library of 80 titles), espresso maker, toaster, hot plate, fridge, and BBQ. We were provided with complimentary bread, cereal, biscuits, tea/coffee, fruit, drinks, etc. which was a really nice and unexpected bonus. Also there was complimentary Wifi – another nice feature of the apartment. The queen size bed was really comfortable and we woke up every day to beautiful views over the bay. The big deck was one of the nicest features and we spent many afternoons enjoying the last rays of the setting sun over Tasman Bay. The heat pump kept the place sufficiently warm, even during the near freezing nights.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at arrow Rock and highly recommend it to anyone spending time in Nelson. At NZ$129 per night, we felt that it was excellent value, especially when compared to other motels in the city. You won’t be disappointed! We will definitely stay here again. -

Mary was there to greet us on our arrival and explained how everything worked. As we were staying for 8 nights she offered to change bedding and towels half way through. It was spotlessly clean and there were lots of special touches including fresh flowers, fruit, milk, bread and other breakfast provisions. Excellent entertainment facilities included a large flatscreen TV, DVD player and apple TV with a good choice of up to date films. The utility room and walk-in wardrobe were also an added bonus together with the large bathroom and bathrobes. But best of all was the fantastic uninterrupted sea view from the large well-furnished balcony. It was also very convenient to walk to the harbour from where the boats left for abel Tasman and also the excellent Haven fish and chip shop. The Boatshed cafe and restaurant was very close by where we enjoyed morning coffees and a lovely evening meal. Mary and Peter provide everything that a guest could possibly want and our stay here was one of the absolute highlights of our 4-week trip to NZ so we were really sad to leave.

What a great apartment. Super clean, spacious, great amenities, beautiful view and quiet. After roughing it for a week in Hokitika, Marahau and abel Tasman, it was a treat being in the Nelson apartment. The bed was comfortable and the linens high quality. We enjoyed sipping wine and watching the sunset from the lovely balcony. At night, we enjoyed a few movies from a large selection of movies. I highly recommend this apartment, it is an exception value considering the price and the amenities. The only difficulty was finding the right driveway to pull into--it took us a few tries to get it right but that is just a function of the hill upon which the homes are perched.

Definitely 5 stars! What's not to like? Luxurious accommodations with fantastic views, comfortable bed, well-supplied, lovely garden, friendly hosts. Good in any weather. Unless you're in a wheelchair or severely incapacitated, the couple of dozen steps up & down to the unit are gradual and not difficult. (I have arthritis & use a cane) A car is a must since it's halfway up a steep hill -- parking spot included. It may not be a "full kitchen" but it's perfectly adequate. We loved every minute, and will definitely be back, if at all possible.

Beautiful apartiment, fabulous views and lots of extras and a great owner as many have stated. Two things to note - there is a microwave and only 1 (portable) hotplate in the kitchen (no oven), we like to cook on holidays and found this a bit difficult. There is a b-b-que on the balcony. Also the main bedroom has a (lovely) curtain rather than a door, thus if you go to bed at different times you can hear the tv more than usual.
Nevertheless it's so lovely sitting on the balcony we would happily stay here again. -

This apartment was a delight, nothing has been left wanting as far as we could see.
From the special TV, to the bathrobes, to the wonderfully comfortable bed and complimentary cereals, wine etc, to the nespresso coffee machine, this the perfect place for a relaxing break.
View is magnificent and constantly changing. Mary is always available for any queries but certainly doesn't intrude.
Arrow rock has to be one of the best places we've stayed! -

Mary and Peter do beyond what they need to do and it's those touches that really count e.g fresh flowers in the bedroom. It was perfect for us and we'd definitely stay again. The only tip I can think of is to pay the taxi driver the extra $1.00 to get you up the hill to the apartment. It's worth it! (Small price to pay for the great view)

This is a beautifully equipped private apartment located on the outskirts of Nelson. The view is amazing, the accommodations spacious and immaculate. The pictures on the website are accurate, if not understated. We were only able to reserve four nights between other reservations and wish we could have stayed longer. However, prospective renters should understand that this is not in downtown Nelson, which was not an issue for us. If you want to partake of the downtown nightlife it is a drive or a taxi ride.

We stayed 3 nights in the apartment and it is just great. The photos shown do not show just how fantastic it is! The views are magnificent, the bed extremely comfortable, the kitchen equipped with everything you need including a coffee machine and the little extra touches like binoculars and fresh homemade biscuits made our stay just wonderful. The apartment is walking distance to several good restaurants. We dined at Harbour Lights Cafe which was really good. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Trying to determine where to stay when planning a holiday is extremely hard when you have never been to a spot. Mary & Peter's was like finding a winning loto ticket in your pants pocket.It is a new place and they have all the added touches such as big screen TV, Movies, Stereo, BBQ and the best of all the most magnificent view you could ever want. We actually felt that we did not have to leave the unit as you could never get a better view and the sun was shining the entire time. They have added a great deal of personal touches to the place that make it a pleasure to stay at. Your hospitality was outstanding and there is nothing negative we could ever add to this experience.
Gentlemen this is the place to take your partner for a nice glass of wine and sit on the balcony and watch the view. -

We have stayed at many places around the world and the Arrow Rock Waterfront apartment was one of the best. It was great value for such luxury. Mary was so friendly and we wished we had have stayed longer. The view from every room is outstanding and enjoyed watching the sailing boats and sunset while we cooked seafood on the barbeque and drank a lovely bottle of wine. Definately add this apartment to your list.

We had the most wonderful two nights at Arrow Rock Waterfront Apartment.
Mary was just fantastic and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable with those lovely extras such as the bottles of beer and the Arrow Rock Sauvignon Blanc wine all nicely chilled, masses of fresh fruit,a loaf of bread, milk, plus a great selection of breakfast cereals. There was even a picnic hamper available.
The apartment is very nicely furnished and has a large terrace with BBQ, so instead of going to one of the local restaurants, we chose to dine-in and take advantage of the late afternoon sun and the beautiful view.
We would thoroughly recommend Arrow Rock as the perfect holiday apartment - apart from such fine hospitality, the view was absolutely superb. We will return. Thankyou Mary and Peter. -

The view is wonderful - harbour constantly changing and comfortable balcony seats encourage you to chill out and rest! Facilities inside are superior - everything you could want for a self-catering holiday and generous provisions when you arrive as well - milk, bread, fruit, etc. Hostts friendly, approachable, helpful but not interfering. An excellent place to stay - nothing more to say!

Absolutely fabulous apartment on Nelson's waterfront. The views were amazing - we could sit on the balcony for hours! About half an hour walk to Nelson centre, or 15 mins the other way to the beach. Cafes about 5 mins away, so perfect location. Modern and contemporary inside, to a very high standard and extras such as wine, bread, milk and cookies on arrival, free wifi and apple tv for free movies were fantastic. Really private and great service from our hosts. Amazing value for money for the four/five star accommodation. We stayed 10 days and it was brilliant - thoroughly reccommended!!!!
