Response from the manager Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you found the owners to be welcoming and that you stated you would return to 2 Pines Farm Cottages again. The owners were surprised and disappointed to learn that you felt the “cess pit” was a little smelly. It is actually a modern sewage treatment works which was installed 2 years ago and the owners have never received any other adverse comments regarding it even in the height of Summer. Indeed, during your booking there was another party occupying their other property of 1 Pines Farm Cottages which is actually closer to the works and they found no cause to complain at all. The owners take great pride in their properties as can be seen from the other reviews on this site and always go out of their way to be welcoming and provide spotlessly clean accommodation. Certain areas of their farm are gated off which is purely to safeguard visitors and provide a safe environment for families with children on this working farm however they offer all guests the opportunity to join them in ‘meeting’ the animals and getting to know the workings of a farm.
