Abilene, TexasThanksgiving Stay
Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012
What a vacation. We came to Pensacola to spend the holiday with our son who is in the Marines. Our stay at the bungalow was so very relaxing. I was very pleased with how clean and comfortable the rental was. The only thing I would do different is get one with a screened in porch. I wanted to sleep with the door open but was afraid the raccoons would come visit. Being close to the beach was also nice. I do wish there was a better view of the water, but I read three books and enjoyed the birds.

St. Louis, MOExcellent location, quiet, and comfortable.
Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Our family wanted a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach. The Beach Bungalow and Perdido Key were spectacular. It is in a very cute complex with a gated entry and a wonderful outdoor pool. It has an island feel which was perfect. The public beach is 1/4 mile away but just down from there was a Johnson National Park beach. It was $8 for a week long car pass but the beach was not busy compared to the public beach. During the week it felt like the beach was all our own. Our kids had a ball finding shells and small sand dollars. The beach is beautiful and the white sand was very clean white. The water was clear and we had a great time swimming. Orange beach is just 15 minutes and Gulf Shores, AL was only about 25. There are great restaruants and shopping. The bungalow had everything we needed. We had a great stay and look forward to next year's trip. We enjoyed a day of deep sea fishing on the 'Outcast'. The crew was incredibly great. We also enjoyed a dolphin sunset cruise on 'Cetacean Cruises'.

The condo was extremely clean and adorably decorated. The amenities were a huge plus for a family (two pools, hot tub, washing machine/dryer). The area had a great deal of activities for families with children of all ages. The only fault of this condo was the location. We wish it sat closer to the beach so we could hear the waves. The surroundings were peaceful.

Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We took a family vacation - 17 people spread out over 3 condos at the Purple Parrot in July 2011. My husband & I and our teenage sons stayed at the Beach Bungalow. From the moment you walked through the doors it felt like home. Set to the back of the property in the circle was perfect for us...privacy, but still close enough to everything to enjoy all the amenities of the Purple Parrot.
I've heard my sister talk for years about how much they love the laid-back atmosphere of the P.P., but once we got there we could see exactly why they don't vacation anywhere else.
The Beach Bungalow is beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean and spacious. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the Purple Parrot and the Beach Bungalow.
We spent most of our time playing volleyball in the sand & enjoying the pool. We loved the sounds of the Wes Loper Band at the Tiki Bar that last night. The staff at the bar were friendly, helpful and always eager to please. Food was awesome and fast!!!
There's really no reason to ever leave the Purple Parrot once you get there. It has something for the entire family. The Beach Bungalow is the perfect home away from home! -

We were there to see our Granddaughter marry at the beach on Friday. Storm Bonnie held off long enough for this to happen without much incident, just a little rain and wind, but God sent a beautiful rainbow to the kids to start their marriage. A wonderful week full of friends and family from both sides..got to meet lots of new people and just thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and resting some.

This is the way to go to the beach--we are converted hotel-goers, and now will only rent a home when we're beach-bound! The home was extremely comfortable, with room for everyone to relax. The kitchen was completely stocked with all the utensils and supplies needed for meals, and the coffeemaker with filters was an especially thoughtful touch. We loved our breakfast on the porch! The convenience of the washer & dryer is beyond words--having clean swimsuits and towels to start every day was sooo wonderful. Beyond the home itself, we had a great time at the resort as well. The pool and waterfall were very fun, especially for our 3-year-old, and we spent a fun night barbecuing there. The bar staff was super friendly and accomodating to us and our friends. The resort manager, JD, was so welcoming and helpful--he allowed us to check in hours earlier than we'd planned with no problem or waiting! In all, we had an amazing trip and will absolutely be back.

very comfortable cottage and well furnished. The stay was wonderful and we wanted for nothing in the cottage. Purple Parrot was a lot of fun and kid friendly. We enjoyed our nights at the Tiki Bar and next to the outdoor pool. We are planning on staying there again when we return to the area.

My wife and I enjoyed the quiet setting and the beautiful interior of this home. Very clean and modern design. The outdoor pool was to cold in March to swim in but they had a nice indoor pool as well. The management was very friendly and helpful. Everything for entertainment is close by and we loved the state park nearby.

we really enjoy the area; much better than Destin or Panamal city. the culdesac where this unit is located is definitely the place to stay at the parrot! this unit wasn't fancy but was fine for a beach house getaway. the pool area is a nice alternative to the beach. Johnston beach is a under used gem! best beach in Florida in my opinion. The reef restaurant is fantastic don't let the exterior scare you off!
