Hafan Refail, formerly known as Stick Cottage, on Anglesey, is a sensitively modernised one bedroom, single storey stone cottage, standing in the owner's grounds with its own pleasant garden and rural setting. Offering ideal accommodation for up to three people, the property is well equipped and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in Wales.
Hafan Refail (Smithy Haven) is situated in Dwyran, in the South-West of Anglesey, arguably one of the most beautiful parts of the island. Hafan Refail is a comfortable self-catering base for 2-3 people, and is ideally situated for exploring Anglesey, the North Wales coast and the mountains of Snowdonia.
Hafan Refail is steeped in history, with some parts dating back to the 19th century, and part of the village smithy. Decorated and furnished to a high standard, Hafan Refail boasts cosy and comfortable accommodation. All the rooms have views of the gardens. The cottage accommodation is all on the ground floor (there are however steps which may make it less suitable if you have additional access needs).
The good sized bedroom has comfortable twin divan beds, which can be pushed together to form a comfortable superking double bed. When booking, please state whether you will require 2 single beds or 1 superking double bed in the bedroom. Although the accommodation is ideal for a couple, there is room in the bedroom or sitting room for a 6’4” Z-bed (available on request) for an extra child or adult. The charming, cosy sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with an electric 'wood burner' stove and exposed beams. The kitchen-diner is well equipped with an electric induction hob, microwave with convection oven and grill, fridge and dining table and chairs. The bathroom has recently been renovated to a high standard and features a basin, WC and large shower. The cottage has its own garden area with garden furniture and barbecue, a perfect place to relax.
Full oil central heating with additional heating from electric 'wood-burner' stove in sitting room. Colour TV, DVD player, wireless internet access, numerous tourist leaflets, selection of games, puzzles, books and DVDs. Bed linen and towels are provided. Own garden area with garden furniture and barbecue. Off road parking for 2 cars. Kayak and bike storage available. This is a non-smoking property. Sorry no pets. Village shop, pub, tea rooms and take-aways all within 5 mins drive.
The cottage is close to the famous National Nature Reserve of Newborough Warren and Beach, an area of unspoilt dunes and sandy beaches, with other equally beautiful beaches at Aberffraw, Cable Bay, Lligwy, Traeth Bychan, Church Bay and Benllech, all less than half an hour's drive from Hafan Refail. Anglesey is a fantastic location for wildlife and is home to a huge variety of wildflowers. Newborough forest is a recent stronghold for red squirrels and is famous for its raven roost, often numbering in the thousands. Ornithologists will also spot plenty of waders and waterfowl from the hides at Newborough and Malltraeth. The coastal footpath and various kayak launch sites are nearby, while the picturesque villages of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll and Menai Bridge are within a short drive of the cottage. Further afield, it takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the mountains of Snowdonia, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno or the castles of Beaumaris and Caernarfon.
With everything so close by, Hafan Refail is the place to spend your holiday!

“Lovely Hafan Refail Cottage”
Cottage is in a quiet village with few amenities but its a short drive to pretty much anything you could need. Cottage itself had everything we needed, was very clean and well looked after and we where very comfortable there. Bethan and John have been wonderful to stay with and went above and beyond for us as we where there celebrating our 25th anniversary. Its a great base to explore the Island and its easy to get to the mainland if you want to visit there too. Highly recommend, great value too!

“Amazing holiday”
We had a fantastic time in Hafan Refail. A lovely and cosy place to stay with very hospitable guests who go out their way to make you feel comfortable and homely. They also advised us about places to visit, local walks, beaches and mountain views. The geography of Anglesey is stunning. Will be definitely coming back.
