Description

Hay Riverside Retreats is a duo of stunning luxury holiday cottages in a peaceful location overlooking the River Wye and yet within a hundred yards of the historic clock tower in the centre of Hay-on-Wye. It has been independently rated at the maximum 5 Star status by Visit Wales since November 2010.

Number 25 Millbank is a dog friendly house, A refundable deposit of £100 is paid by the guest to cover the cost of any damage, replacement or additional cleaning.

Each house is identical and offers luxury self-catering holidays in which make the perfect hideaways for a romantic break, or for time out with friends and family. The three contemporary houses can be rented individually to sleep 5, or together to accommodate a larger group. THE COTTAGE

BEDROOMS: The cottage has three bedrooms, finished to a high standard with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, feather pillows, and double glazed windows. The bedrooms are fitted with curtains and blinds backed with special linings to ensure guests are not disturbed by early morning light.

KITCHEN AND TERRACE: • The kitchen, on the ground floor, is beautifully designed for cooking and dining with the additional benefit of French doors leading onto a paved terrace for eating outside. The terrace offers superb views of the riverbank and adds to the sense of country luxury providing the perfect place to sit with a book and enjoy the sounds of the river, or to watch the sun set and the stars appear. There is discrete lighting and terrace furniture for eating al fresco.

BATHROOMS: The master bedroom on the first floor is en-suite, and there is a second bathroom the two additional bedrooms on the top floor. There is also a downstairs toilet.

LIVINGROOM: The spacious living room on the first floor offers stunning views overlooking the river with folding glass doors and a 17 foot wide balcony. From the comfort of the leather sofa and chairs, guests can enjoy the birdsong and sounds of the river as it runs its course through mid-Wales. Facing north-west, the living room makes the most of sunsets, the evening sky at dusk and the stars at night.

Throughout the house, there are lots of options for lighting, with lamps, wall lights and spot lights with adjustable dimmers to suit all moods. Each house is equipped with TV, DVD player, WiFi, and music docking station.

CAR PARKING: Each house as a driveway which can comfortably park one car, with additional parking for a second car within easy walking distance.

THE LOCAL AREA: It is just a two minute stroll to the centre of Hay with its quaint narrow streets, bookshops, galleries, pavement cafes and medieval castle. The stunning Welsh countryside is also on your doorstep with The Black Mountains behind Hay and the Brecon Beacons just a short drive away.

“Relaxing break”

We stayed here for a couple of days as a family of 4 and 2 dogs. The cottage was clean ,spacious and well equipped. Great position for river walks and town centre. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

If Kasie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
